Texas Gas Utility Services, Inc. is a privately-held growth entity focused on bringing critical natural gas infrastructure to developing markets across Texas. The Company is currently focused on rapidly expanding the availability of safe, reliable, and affordable natural gas and fiber optic telecommunication services to residential and commercial customers.

The Project Manager will manage the process of underground utility construction operations including; equipment used, labor skills, safe digging operations, OSHA requirements, etc. This role will direct personnel and contractor construction crews and will oversee project deadlines, materials management and coordination with all other third parties for day to day operations. This role will be overseeing underground fiber and utility installation projects of various sizes and scopes of work. The Project Manager must have a strong work ethic, knowledge of the telecom industry, and a strong belief in the Safety and the Well-Being of team members.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. Manages the construction work of sub-contractors to ensure the installation of gas mains and trunk lines are compliant with Texas RRC standards.
  2. Initiates the purchase of materials for projects including those required for capital projects, manages and controls associated costs, and maintains related inventory records.
  3. Ensures company employees have proper equipment and that contractors are compliant with company safety regulations.
  4. Manage construction projects and field service workorders, including maintaining sufficient resources (labor and equipment) to complete projects on time and on budget.
  5. Prepare project status reports as required for the Operations management team.
  6. Ensure all homesites that are ready for a meter set are put in queue in hubspot for timely installation of meters.
  7. Collaborate with Centric Fiber’s engineering and operations team to enable and efficiently execute joint infrastructure installations.
  8. Support the development of construction bid documents and negotiate contracts with contractors, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
  9. Coordinate with GIS team to ensure all new pipelines are reflected in mapping software.
  10. Support business development opportunity validation and economic modelling assistance.
  11. Work with operations team to prepare request-for-quotes in support of project planning; items to prepare may include map exhibits, trenching cross-sections, tap sites, etc.  Assist with the selection of contractors for each project.
  12. Maintain inventory, loading and unloading, collection of unused materials for input back into inventory, oversight of warehouse and all deliveries.
  13. Work in concert with the Fiber Project Managers to ensure the timely construction and delivery of all joint trench projects.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Equivalent Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 5 to 7 years of related experience, including experience in a senior or lead role capacity working with field maintenance / construction projects.
  • Excellent reporting skills and proficiency with Microsoft excel.
  • Use your troubleshooting and problem-solving skills to come up with solutions.
  • Use your communication skills to resolve customer’s concerns.
  • Proven track record of building customer relationships, with the ability to earn customer loyalty.
