Position Summary:
The Systems Project Engineer must effectively and efficiently drive toward successful systems project integrations and professional IT Services to our valued client base. As a subject matter expert for IT solutions, the project engineer provides technical oversight and ensures the project team produces the best possible outcomes for our clients through proper design and implementation. The Project Engineer's deeply specialized knowledge and skills help ensure Corsica's ability to solve even the most complex issues our clients face. The expertise and guidance provided by this role are critical to winning client trust and building the long-term relationships Corsica seeks with all our clients.
 
Responsibilities:
  1. Complete network project implementation and deployments that meet Corsica standards, and exceed client expectations, including:
  1. Staging equipment and software. 
  1. Provide project status updates to manager(s) daily through applicable Professional Software Automation (PSA) solutions.  
  1. Complete project discovery tasks to include site surveys and working with clients to understand their needs and then transition findings and client notes to Design Engineer for project scoping. 
  1. Provide client recommendations to implement best practices and simple network designs. 
  1. Provide end-user (client) and internal team members training to ensure post project success.  
  1. Facilitate post-project quality assurance (QA) testing.  
  1. Provide network analysis, response, and remediation support.  
  1. Lead the Corsica team with mentorship and technical oversight.
  1. Evaluate existing processes and engineer improvements.  
  1. Stay current with technology through ongoing education, training, and self-study.
  2. Be willing to invest time researching new products from ANY vendor. 
Employees who make on-site service or sales calls in locations where state or local government(s) have mandated COVID vaccine(s) to enter a building, are required to provide proper proof of having the vaccine and booster as required by legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Qualified candidates will have a deep understanding of the following: 
  1. Required: 
    1. Windows Client and Server Operating Systems.
  2. On-prem Microsoft-based Network Services including Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS.
  3. Microsoft-based E-mail Platforms including Exchange and M365.
  4. MS Azure and Amazon Web Services.
  5. AWS cloud services including EC2 Compute, Route 53, S3 Storage, AMIs, Volumes, Snapshots, Security Groups, and VPCs.
  6. Azure Private Cloud Services including Virtual Networking, Azure Active Directory, Storage Services, Virtual machines, and Cloud Security.
  7. Microsoft Cloud Solutions including OneDrive.
  8. SharePoint Virtualization platforms including Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESXi, VMWare, and VDI.
  9. On-Prem and Cloud Backup Solutions
  10. Storage Technologies: SAN and NAS
  11. Cloud-based VoIP Solutions
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's Degree in any IT related field OR equivalent years of experience AND technical certifications (e.g., VCP, Azure Solutions Architect)
  • 2+ years of professional experience implementing IT services
  • 5+ years of Windows Server level technology experience)
  • 1+ years of Microsoft Cloud Solutions/Services experience
  • Experience creating technical documentation
Preferred:
  • 2+ year of Linux experience (CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • 2+ years of Mac OSX experience
  • Cybersecurity experience
  • Experience working with security compliance standards
  • Experience working for an MSP or MSSP
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to supervise work on the primary support board to ensure alignment with Corsica processes.

Work Environment:
  • In most cases, work will be performed in a climate-controlled office space.
Travel:
  • This position will require travel. Most travel will be regional. Occasional overnight travel should be expected. Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
Physical Demands:
  • Candidate should be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Job will require sitting for long periods of time, and may occasionally require bending, lifting, and driving.
Position Type/Expected Hours:
  • This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week.
    • A one-hour lunch break is provided.
  • We employ a flexible schedule with shift start times beginning at 8:00 AM.
  • Depending on client requirements, some projects may require:
    • 24/7 “on call” availability.
    • Working beyond normal work hours.
    • Shifted work hours.
