JOB SUMMARY
The Account Manager is an entry level role on the Elligo network operations team. The Account Manager works to build their knowledge of the clinical research field by learning best practices in account management of research sites. Their responsibilities will include day to day management of an assigned stable of research sites and ensuring the maximum growth potential of that territory through an increased number of awards/contracts. The Account Manager will be responsible for holding weekly pipeline calls, reporting, and supporting any site directives given by the clients themselves or the Associate Director. The Account Manager will have a smaller business development responsibility, namely through research activities and some specific outreach based on the needs of his or her sites. The Account Manager will work with their sites to learn the account management role and build into a more senior role on the team.
This position is expected to uphold the mission and values established by the organization. This position will report directly to an Associate Director of Network Operations at Elligo.
RESPONSIBILITES- Manages a stable of 15 clinical research sites within Elligo Network by updating relevant client charts, scheduling and holding pipeline calls, performing customized research and procuring study opportunities, maintaining and updating relevant systems (Salesforce, Monday), among other key tasks
- Builds rapport with each and every client to ensure they feel supported and that their Account Manager is an extension of their own business development operations
- Works diligently to understand client needs, capabilities, areas of therapeutic expertise, desired therapeutic areas to break into, and other relevant short- and long-term goals the client may have
- Works with the Associate Director to understand client goals, and proactively works to achieve, assess, and validate them on an ongoing basis
- Maintains a high level of personalization of emails at all times to all clients – pharmaceutical and site
- Schedules and hold at minimum bi-weekly pipeline calls with each client
- Maintains each client’s pipeline chart in Salesforce and exports updated pipeline to client every ten (10) business days, adhering to a customizable template showcasing an understanding of what studies need to be prioritized
- Advocates their site’s capabilities to the business development team and project managers for high-priority studies identified by site; submits “defense” material for each site twice (2x) per month in an effort to push site on studies
- Comes prepared with detailed agenda to 1o1 meetings bi-weekly with Associate Director in an effort to review goals & site progress
- Responsible for submitting reports to Associate Director or Director outlining site progress including CTAs, PSVs, and studies that he/she is following on a weekly basis
- Notifies Associate Director immediately whenever any kind of escalation (i.e. expression of unhappiness) occurs with any client
- Responsible for new company outreach specific to site needs and interfacing with business development personnel within Elligo Network to ensure high volume of studies to his or her sites.
- Responsible for sourcing leads from research articles, press releases, etc. at a cadence as outlined by the research process and assigned by Associate Director(s) and/or Director(s).
- Participates in side projects that may arise such as compiling attendee lists for conferences, locating contacts, organizing spreadsheets, and other administrative tasks
- Maintains solutions-oriented, highly professional demeanor at all times with each client and treats each site as though they are the most important in the Network
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Communications or related field from a 4-year college or university
- A minimum of 1-3 years professional experience in healthcare, communications, or business field
- Willingness and eagerness to drive success to clients
- Familiarity with the clinical research industry is a plus
- Strong communication skills (written and oral) in order to effectively deliver information to (and solicit information from) clients, internal team members, and higher-ups
- Strong organizational skills and ability to handle a large volume of internal and external emails
- Ability to actively listen to each client in order to understand needs, goals, and key deliverables
- Ability to proactively identify and solve problems
- Ability to prioritize projects, clients, and responsibilities in general based on urgency and deadlines
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment
WORKING CONDITIONS
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and photocopiers.
Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 37.5 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Moderate (10-25%) travel is required for this position.
