Position Summary:
Corsica Technologies develops its own custom software to improve operational efficiency, drive client engagement and satisfaction, support sales efforts, improve security, and assist with our own and our clients' digital transformation efforts. The UI/UX Designer draws upon his/her experience and expertise to design meaningful and delightful experiences for these software solutions and will be an active participant in the software development team on assigned projects.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Gathering and evaluating user requirements.
  • Translating requirements into style guides, design systems, design patterns and delightful user interfaces.
  • Developing UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate web and mobile application design and functionality.
  • Designing graphical user interface elements.
  • Preparing and presenting mockups for internal teams and key stakeholders.
  • Adhering to brand standards on fonts, colors and images.
  • Optimizing existing user interface designs.
  • Combining creativity with an awareness of the design elements.
  • Planning and conducting user research, interviews and surveys.
  • Helping define and refine user personas and scenarios.
  • Testing new ideas and assumptions.
Employees who make on-site service or sales calls in locations where state or local government(s) have mandated COVID vaccine(s) to enter a building, are required to provide proper proof of having the vaccine and booster as required by legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Proven work experience as a UI/UX Designer or similar role.
  • Knowledge of interaction design principles.
  • Knowledge of industry tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • Effective written and verbal communication.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Pushes tasks to completion.
  • Empathizes with software users (user-centered approach).
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Comfortable working independently or with a team.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
  • A minimum of 2 years professional experience as a UI/UX Designer or equivalent and Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma.
  • A portfolio of professional UI/UX design work web and/or mobile platforms.
  • Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: HTML, CSS, iOS, Android, Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop).
Supervisory Responsibility:
  • This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment:
  • This is a remote-work position with no in-office requirements.
Travel:
  • Occasional overnight travel may be required.
Physical Demands:
  • Job will require sitting for long periods of time, and may occasionally require bending, lifting, and driving.
Position Type/Expected Hours:
  • This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week.
    • A one-hour lunch break is provided.
  • We employ a flexible schedule with shift start times beginning at 8:00 AM.
  • Depending on client requirements, some projects may require:
    • 24/7 “on call” availability.
    • Working beyond normal work hours.
    • Shifted work hours.
