Independently read and interpret blueprints, planning sheets, sketches, and related technical
data to determine tooling requirements, setup procedures, control settings, and machining
methods and sequences. This work is primarily focused on repairs to Steam and Gas Turbine
components and it is a service leader to all internal and external customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES- Set up, and operate CNC type shop machine tools, such as Lathes, Milling , Boring, Grinding
- Set up, and operate Manual type shop machine tools, such as Lathes, Milling , Boring, Grinding
- Set up, and operate “Portable machine tools, such as Lathes, Milling , Boring, Grinding
- Calculate and set machine controls to position spindle in relationship to part and to regulate factors such as cutting depth, speed, feed, and coolant flow
- Operate machine and monitor displays and machine operation to detect malfunctions
- Understand required machining sequence and use precision measuring tools to measure parts for conformance to blueprint specifications
- Perform dimensional inspection of various products
- Clean machine, tooling, and parts and perform equipment PM as assigned
- Heavy overnight travel (at least 70%) by land, and /or air
- Be able to gain access to Nuclear Plants
- Perform other such duties as may be required

Education and/or Experience:- High school diploma or equivalent; or at least three (3) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Associate Degree in Machining discipline strongly encouraged to apply
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to write simple correspondence
- Ability to effectively present information in one on-one and small group situations to other employees of the organization.
- Ability to perform necessary calculations to satisfy job requirements.
Ability to make judgment decisions based on material specifications or technical requirements.- Computer Skills: Personal computer skills including electronic mail, word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, drawings, etc.needs to support our customers.
