A leading construction and service company for over 35 years offering Plumbing, HVAC, and Electrical services to customers in the greater Phoenix, AZ marketplace is hiring a Project Manager. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for the successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, and closure of projects. Responsibilities:
  • Manage commercial projects, schedules, expenses, budgets & change orders from award of contract to completion
  • Award job packages (gear, lighting, fire alarm, etc.)
  • Set goals for yourself and team leaders
  • Maintain manpower schedules
  • Maintain estimated profit margins
  • Exercise critical thinking skills by identifying and resolving problems promptly.
  • Develop project plans and coordinate projects completing them on time and within budget.
  • Manage difficult or emotional customer situations responding promptly to customer needs.
  • Speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listening to get clarification.
  • Make presentations and participate in meetings as necessary.
  • Balance team and individual responsibilities.
  • Exhibit confidence in self and others, inspiring and motivating others to perform well.
  • Provide vision and inspiration to peers and subordinates giving appropriate recognition to others and displaying passion and optimism.
  • Manage staff including them in planning, decision-making, facilitating, and process improvement taking responsibility for subordinates' activities.
  • Provide regular performance feedback to develop subordinates' skills and encourage growth.
  • Solicit and apply customer feedback (internal and external) fostering quality focus in others.
  • Improve processes, products, and services and continually work to improve supervisory skills.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or seven years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, accounting, internet and project management software.
  • Ability to deal with frequent change, delays, or unexpected events.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Ability to perform the physical demands of the job such as the ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ladders, and negotiate work areas under construction in adverse weather conditions as well as navigate ditches and elevated work platforms.
  • Vision abilities required to perform this job included close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to wear approved eye protection.
  • Must have the ability to hear bells, alarms, whistles, etc.
  • Performing this job requires the use of hands to handle or feel objects, tools, and/or controls.
  • Ability to work in environments with exposure to loud machinery or equipment, fumes, airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds regularly and without assistance.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and non-traditional work hours depending upon the needs of the project to meet deadlines.
