Summary
A growing, dynamic engineering firm in Pine Brook, New Jersey, is looking for an agile soil laboratory/equipment manager to manage, monitor and maintain a busy, high-volume geotechnical soils laboratory and associated equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Laboratory and Equipment Management:- Operates and manages geotechnical laboratory
- Inventories all soil samples and field equipment
- Performs and manages standard laboratory tests
- Maintains laboratory and field equipment
- Ensure standards and procedures comply with published standards (i.e. ASTM, AASHTO)
- Provides quality control of laboratory results
- Manages laboratory assignments and reviews all test results
- Evaluates existing software and provides recommendations for customization, upgrades or new software
- Prioritizes workflow and manages multiple projects at a time
- Manages timeframe required to complete the test procedure
- Provide training and supervision of technicians, inspectors and staff engineers
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience.
- HS Diploma or GED preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License and possess reliable transportation to access job site.
- Proficient in communicating both verbal and written in the English language.
- Proficient with Design software as applicable, MS Word, Excel, Adobe
- Must be able to frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
This position will work in a typical office environment, mostly located indoors. This position may experience frequent interruptions, conversations, equipment noise, or other background noise. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
