Position Overview: Associate Partner, Digital Strategic Communications
Associate Partners come from a range of professional backgrounds, including former journalists, campaigns leaders, government staffers, and internal corporate roles, as well as careers as business strategists. Associate Partners are experienced client advisors and strategists who bring significant digital experience across corporate and financial communications and campaigns. In this role, Associate Partners will effectively project manage the different aspects of a data-led campaign and efficiently draw on the team’s multidisciplinary expertise. Associate Partners bring an innovative and collaborative mindset to the team and are highly skilled at identifying business development opportunities and managing complex projects. Associate Partners apply their experience and insights to critical, global issues for our clients whilst having a genuine role in shaping our firm.

In this role, you will:
 
  • Provide a leadership role across the business, focused on bringing a highly strategic digital campaigning and insights-led mindset to all of our work, to ensure it has impact
  • Look to bring in innovative ways of working across the whole agency to ensure we are building a truly integrated firm - through training and through development of new approaches
  • Keep at the forefront of innovation and culture to ensure our work remains of the highest standard, relevant and fresh
  • Be responsible for embedding digital into corporate relations and think strategically about the bigger picture issues at hand and how public opinion is influenced by all kinds of media and platform
  • Lead on research, with a strong understanding of qualitative and quantitative data, how to translate it and how to inform better decisions
  • Manage multiple and potentially multi-jurisdictional client accounts, as well as lead DGA sector and/or functional groups
  • Make significant contributions to client impact, and retention or business processes
  • Manage and support DGA team members with their professional development
  • Manage key creative and performance marketing partner relationships
  • Help clients with strategic decision-making
  • Handle projects with limited or no supervision
  • Lead and identify business development initiatives 
Expectations of a DGA Associate Partner:
 
  • Significantly contributes to and drives client strategy
  • Develop strategy for client engagements and brings the team along with you
  • Originate and win new business
  • Develop junior talent-support and mentor other team members
  • Contribute to thought leadership pieces, marketing activities and other relevant events
  • Collaborate with wider DGA colleagues in other offices and Dentons lawyers
  • Maintain establish networks, share network contacts with the wider DGA team to the benefit of the group, and continue to expand network connections
  • Lead training sessions
  • Strong culture-setter who will get stuck in and help us grow the business by building new ways of working at DGA
  • Contribute to DGA’s own ESG agenda
  • Ability to commission research and set strategies, using full suite of tools and skills within the team so that our work is as integrated and progressive as it can be
  • Brings in DGA full potential to engage with clients on their most complex issues
  • Think and act in an integrated way

Basic Qualifications:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher or equivalent and relevant work experience
  • 9+ years of experience in a strategic digital communications role, from an agency, Government or in-house, or the capabilities of someone of that level of experience
  • Significant experience across earned, owned and paid media, preferably within event-driven communications and campaigns, combining data, creative and campaigning skillsets
  • Experience of counselling senior management teams
  • Takes ownership of coaching the wider agency team to upskill them in digital and research capabilities
  • Highly collaborative working style
  • Strong working knowledge of digital platforms and new emerging technologies, with an entrepreneurial mindset to developing new ways of working
  • Excellent writer with strong attention to detail
  • Experience with commissioning research and using digital analytical tools, as well as working closely with a range of specialist partners to deliver work on time and on budget
