Responsibilities:

Under general supervision, this position develops and monitors Child360’s budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.  The Fiscal Analyst assists in the monitoring and management of all programs and contracts to ensure fiscal and reporting compliance.  This includes tracking progress towards financial performance measures to ensure goals are met.  The Fiscal Analyst will work closely with the Sr. Fiscal Grants Analyst to provide fiscal support in developing budgets, tracking actual expenditures and forecasting financial results.

Daily Tasks
  • Prepares budgets and gathers data necessary to submit proposals in accordance with Child360 guidelines. Disseminates information to Budget Managers and Agencies
  • Assists Budget Managers with submissions of proposals to ensure all necessary Child360 and agency requirements are met
  • Monitors account activity and reconciles accounts to assure that all account activities are related to the projects and are charged appropriately. When discrepancies are found, informs staff and takes necessary steps to correct the transactions, such as expense transfers or journal entry corrections
  • Observes account balances and processes budget changes when necessary to comply with original scope of work. References agency guidelines to make sure that budget changes are in compliance with the specified requirements from individual agencies
  • Reconciles and reviews monthly account statements and provides Budget Managers with account summaries and projection reports on a monthly basis
  • Remains up-to-date with information regarding agency funding/spending guidelines and restrictions
  • Advises Budget Managers in advance of remaining time of project periods and account balances to assure that extensions on research projects are requested in a timely manner if research has to be extended beyond current project periods
  • Conducts forecasts/projections for awards received to assure that original scope of work will be satisfied. Communicates with Budget Managers, review original proposal submission, and verify applicable fringe and F&A rates to prepare forecasts, annual, and final agency reports
  • Remains informed regarding agency funding/spending guidelines. Communicate information to staff to ensure that guidelines set forth by agencies are followed
  • Assesses current systems and processes for efficiency and effectiveness in collaboration with other staff members, as they relate to the fiscal management of grants
  • Completes required monthly and/or quarterly reporting
  • Coordinates year-end close process; as needed

Physical Duties
  • Work is primarily sedentary in nature, no special demands are required. May be expected to lift boxes up to 20 lbs.

  • Adheres to Child360 general safety practices and any unique safety practices for the department and/or building.

Knowledge and Skills Requirements:    
  • Strong budget, fiscal, analytical and project management skills, compliance experience required
  • Strong writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly skilled in Excel (Pivot tables, VLookups, Index & Match, MS Query, etc.)
  • Experience in MS Access preferred
  • Knowledge of OMB Circulars preferred
  • Strong project management, technology, analytical and communications skills 
  • Ability to work independently, while connecting tasks to broader project/organizational goals
  • Team player and collaborator with a strong work ethic
  • Highly organized, adaptable to change, dedicated, and mission-focused
  • Ability to translate ideas and concepts into financial scenarios
  • Ability to anticipate necessary system changes and be proactive in implementing those requirements
  • Strong leadership, technology, analytical and communications skills
  • Computer skills that encompass effective use of word processing, spreadsheet, project management, presentation, mail and Internet browser software
  • Ability to prioritize and balance a variety of time and materially-sensitive projects at a given time and to carry out assigned projects to their successful completion in a timely manner

Required Field/Travel: None

Preferred Experience:  3 - 5 years’ experience in a related field required

Formal Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field  required

Language proficiency:  Proficient knowledge of English grammar required
