Position Summary

Managed services providers (MSPs) must perform a huge array of tasks and activities for their customers—some are important and urgent, and some are repetitive daily tasks that need to be done to ensure best practices.
Technicians often perform a lot of the same basic tasks on a regular basis such as onboarding new users, performing regular monthly maintenance activities, and patching systems. However, when urgent incidents develop that must be dealt with quickly, this consumes time and takes them away from doing the essential basics. Engineers are the collaborative resource our technicians and admins can reach out to in order to get a client’s incident remediated thereby making the client’s day less stressful and getting them back to work.
A Systems Engineer may be called upon to develop solutions for our clients in a broad range of technology and process-oriented fields.
Responsibilities
  • Collaboration with team members to find solutions for our clients.
  • Accurate communication to collaborative resources.
  • Accurate and timely communication to the stakeholder of work being performed.
  • Accurate time entry.
  • Maintain and update documentation and service ticket records.
  • Stay up to date on the latest Network technologies through ongoing education.
Employees who make on-site service or sales calls in locations where state or local government(s) have mandated COVID vaccine(s) to enter a building, are required to provide proper proof of having the vaccine and booster as required by legislation.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Able to function effectively in a high paced environment.
  • Can understand the perspective of the client in all service interactions. 
  • Must make effective use of time and complete tasks efficiently and on time.
  • Able to work with a team, communicate effectively, and have a high attention to detail.
  • Must meet client and corporate expectations for attendance, quality, and performance.
  • Must have advanced experience with:
    • System Infrastructure concepts including:
      • Active Directory
      • Servers
      • Virtualization
      • Storage
    • Email
    • Networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS (Domain Name System), and DHCP
  • Must have 3 – 6 years’ experience with at least one of the following Cloud vendors
    • Microsoft Azure
    • AWS
  • Must have 3 – 6 years’ experience with PowerShell Scripting
  • Must have 3 – 6 years’ experience with one of the following Hypervisor vendors
    • Microsoft
    • VMware
  • Must have 1 -2 years’ experience in each of the following:
    • API
    • RMM (Remote Management & Monitoring) tools such as N-central.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
  • Associates degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
  • MSP (Managed services providers) experience is preferred.
  • One of the following certifications or higher:
    • Azure Equivalent
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate
    • MCSE: Core Infrastructure
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Messaging Administrator Associate
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert
    • Microsoft Certified: Azure Virtual Desktop Specialty
    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Teams Voice Engineer Expert
Miscellaneous Position Information

Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is expected to supervise work on the primary support board to ensure alignment with Corsica processes.

Travel: This position requires less than 5% travel with little overnight travel expected. Team members may be asked to travel as part of continuing education, or for client site visits.

Position Type/Expected Hours:
  • This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week with a flexible schedule beginning at 8:00 AM.
  • Depending on client requirements, some projects may require:
    • 24/7 “on call” availability.
    • Working beyond normal work hours.
    • Shifted work hours.
