Position Summary
Corsica depends on the efficiency of IT Service Management team members to keep costs low. Managed services providers (MSPs) must perform a huge array of tasks and activities for their customers—some are important and urgent, and some are repetitive daily tasks that need to be done to ensure best practices.
Technicians often perform a lot of the same basic tasks on a regular basis such as onboarding new users, performing regular monthly maintenance activities, and patching systems.
However, when urgent incidents develop that must be dealt with quickly, this consumes time and takes them away from doing the essential basics. Engineers are the collaborative resource our technicians and admins can reach out to in order to get a client’s incident remediated thereby making the client’s day less stressful and getting them back to work.
A Network Engineer may be called upon to develop solutions for our clients in a broad range of technology and process-oriented fields.
Responsibilities
- Collaboration with team members to find solutions for our clients.
- Accurate communication to collaborative resources.
- Accurate and timely communication to the stakeholder of work being performed.
- Accurate time entry.
- Maintain and update documentation and service ticket records.
- Stay up to date on the latest Network technologies through ongoing education.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Able to function effectively in a high paced environment.
- Can understand the perspective of the client in all service interactions.
- Must make effective use of time and complete tasks efficiently and on time.
- Able to work with a team, communicate effectively, and have a high attention to detail.
- Must meet client and corporate expectations for attendance, quality, and performance.
- Must have 3 -5 years’ experience with each of the following:
- Network Infrastructure concepts
- Switching
- Routing
- VPN configuration
- Firewall Configuration
- Subnetting
- Networking concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS (Domain Name System), and DHCP.
- Must have 2 – 3 years’ experience with at least one of the following vendors
- Must have 1+ years’ experience in each of the following:
- API
- RMM (Remote Management & Monitoring) tools such as N-central.
- Cloud-based datacenters such as Azure and AWS.
Education, Experience, and Certifications
- Associates degree or 4 years of relevant experience.
- MSP (Managed services providers) experience is preferred.
- One of the following certifications:
- CCNA
- NSE 4
- Meraki Solutions Specialist
- JNCIS-ENT
- AWS Certified Advanced Networking
Miscellaneous Position Information
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment: In most cases, work will be performed in a climate-controlled office space.
Position Type/Expected Hours:
- This is a full-time, direct hire (W2) position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week. Corsica generally has a flexible schedule that begins at 8:00 AM.
- Depending on client requirements, some projects may require:
- 24/7 “on call” availability.
- Working beyond normal work hours.
- Shifted work hours.
