GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION
Facilities Process Technicians are individuals who have good general mechanical skillsets and technical knowledge, and responsible for the variety of semi-skilled and skilled day-to-day manufacturing and facility support operations and activities as defined within the Essential Job Duties Section.  

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead assignments in and/or execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities, services, or setup on manufacturing process equipment and/or components such as, but not limited to, granulators, tablet presses, mixers, ovens, tablet presses, spray coating machines, packaging equipment, tanks, pneumatics, hydraulics, motors, vacuum pumps, motion controllers, programmable logic controllers, VFDs, vision systems, etc.       

  • Secondary assignments may involve being the Lead and/or execute scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities or services on Facilities Support Systems and Components such as, but not limited to, HVAC, compressed air systems, water conditioning systems, generators, control logic systems, security systems, building monitoring systems, etc. 

  • Lead assignments in and/or execute maintenance/repair activities or services within the cGMP areas such as wall and floor repairs, resurfacing projects, etc.  

  • Oversee contracted manufacturing process maintenance services/contracts and ensure services are rendered correctly. 

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose deficiencies in equipment or systems and provide recommendations for repair.  Ability to instruct subordinates on the general knowledge and repair of the various systems, components, and equipment. 

  • Understand and provide detailed knowledge on the variety of temperature, pressure, flow, proximity, position, ultrasonic, and humidity sensors and monitoring/control systems. 

  • Understand and provide detailed knowledge on the building management system. 

  • Lead and prepare for manufacturing equipment relocations and setups.     

  • Provide knowledge for the recommendation of purchase, cost saving measures, and development of a project or repair budget. 

  • Provide input and/or author various documents to include but not limited to standard operating procedures, internal memos, deviations, incidents, equipment change requests, preventative maintenance forms, work orders, etc.  Understand the required process of initiating required documents and procedures. 

  • Maintain logbooks, work orders, and maintenance documents.  Oversee the quality and correctness of documents submitted by subordinates.  

  • Ability to train junior Facilities Process Technicians in the submittal and documentation practices as required by the department, as well as purchase orders. 

  • Ability to lead and mentor a group of Facilities Process Technicians in providing departmental support. 

  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate with other departments on activity scheduling to develop a conducive work schedule designed to minimize the impact on manufacturing and other critical operations. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned. 

  • Ensure safety procedures are followed. 

  • Ensure that a safe and clean work environment is present for employees while performing required duties.  Monitor subordinates in their ability to maintain a clean work environment. 

  • Work in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, constantly seeking to improve methods and the safety of others. 

  • Works under limited or no supervision.   

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma (or GED) and three or more (3+) years cGMP experience, or any equivalent combination of training and experience.   
  • ​​​​​3-5 years of experience in FDA regulated manufacturing operations.  
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental rules and regulations concerning procedures, tools, mechanical and electrified equipment, commonly used chemicals, and basic safe work practices is required. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Standing, walking, kneeling and bending approximately 75% of the day.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Capable of working indoors or outdoors in hot or cold temperatures
