Job Summary: The Data Architect will support innovation, profitability, revenue, and business growth opportunities by applying modern database modeling and data exploration skills with data architecture strategy and design principles to support metrics, analytics, AI/ML, and self-service business intelligence utilizing cloud-based infrastructure and technologies.
Duties and Responsibilities- Work with business models and transform them into data designs for implementation.
- Lead ideation, planning, development, and delivery of data solutions.
- Implement modern data architecture and solutions in AWS and Azure based environments.
- Advise, evaluate and implement data unification, management and exploration strategies such as data fabric, data mesh, data virtualization, and semantic layers.
- Develop data delivery architectures and metadata suitable for enterprise products.
- Develop data management best practices, database standards, reusable data, and integration frameworks.
- Analyze structural and data requirements for new software and applications.
- Migrate data from legacy data platforms to modern, best-fit platforms.
- Initiate improvements to data operation performance by conducting tests, troubleshooting, and integrating new elements.
- Develop data security, data governance, management strategies and backup procedures.
- Coordinate with other teams to identify future needs and requirements.
- Protect operations by keeping information confidential.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience of relevant experience as a Data Architect, or similar role.
- Expertise in design and implementation of enterprise data store, data warehouse, data governance, data quality management, and metadata management.
- Experience implementing data solutions in cloud-based environments such as AWS and Azure.
- Practical experience in modern data management technologies and strategies like data fabric, data virtualization, and semantics layers.
- Solid experience in Microsoft traditional data warehousing (SQL Server, SSIS, etc).
- Advanced level proficiency in predictive analysis and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau, etc).
- Previous insurance industry experience a plus.
