Duties and Responsibilities- Define, source, and manage ETL of relevant data for use in strategic data analytics.
- Perform in-depth statistical/financial/actuarial analysis on large data sets.
- Collect information from various sources and analyze patterns to gain actionable insights.
- Recommend different analytical methods and techniques to improve the quality of data systems.
- Identify and then perform needed data cleansing and data enrichment work on company data.
- Support IT team in maintaining quality of data through effective communication and coordination with various business departments, such as Underwriting, Product Management, Actuarial, etc.
- Assist with testing of data for various projects and state rollouts.
- Collaborate with management to support their data analytics needs.
- Perform other duties, as assigned.
Education, Experience and Licensing Requirements- Bachelor’s degree required; ten years of industry experience strongly preferred
- Experience querying, organizing, transforming, and reporting on Property and Casualty Insurance datasets.
- Report and Process Automation experience necessary.
- Advanced skills in SQL and Excel.
- Experience creating and maintaining large analytical datasets for all levels of internal and external consumers.
- Advanced skills in other programming languages a plus (R, Python, Java, etc.).
- Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills.
- Data-driven, analytical approach necessary.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong presentation skills with proven ability to communicate complex technical information in a way that is easily understood by others.
- Ability to work independently, multi-task and adapt to frequent priority changes.
- Ability to plan, prioritize workload, organize, and coordinate multiple tasks and projects.
- Must possess excellent writing skills.
