GSE Workforce Solutions, is currently working with a major manufacturing client who are at the forefront of laser technology, who are looking to hire a Manufacturing Engineer on a full-time permanent position located on-site in the Phoenix, AZ geographical location starting ASAP! - Local candidates only.

Salary: Up to $80K DOE.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining and improving fabrication, processing and assembly methods and procedures involved in the manufacturing of lasers and laser material processing systems. Candidates must be familiar with a wide range of fabrication and processing methods and equipment, be able to work independently and balance workload among multiple priorities.

Responsibilities and duties:
  • Continuously monitor and analyze manufacturing process flows for opportunities to improve quality, decrease cycle-time, and reduce cost of all products.
  • Collaborate with design engineering to develop, document and implement fabrication, processing and assembly methods needed for new product introduction.
  • Champion elimination of rework and scrap in manufacturing process
  • Collaborate with our material suppliers to help them develop their capacity to provide quality parts in a timely manner.
  • Plan and develop optimal CNC programs for all materials produced by our in-house machining department.
  • Develop and deploy effective training material to train production staff in optimal manufacturing methods and standard operating procedures.
  • Drive the identification and correction of product design issues on the production floor
  • Implement Engineering Change Orders on the production floor
  Education and qualification:
  • Minimum of a BS in Manufacturing Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering Technology from an ABET- accredited university
  • Client will consider recent grads with at least 1-years relevant work experience or up to 3-years
  • Familiarity with a wide range of fabrication methods including machining, sheet metal, injection molding and thermoforming
  • Ability to read dimensional drawings and apply dimensions and tolerances to inspection of parts
  • Mechanical design experience
  • Experience with Solidworks
  • Must have experience with CNC
  • Knowledge of best practices for health and safety in the workplace
  • Experience programing for CNC machining equipment using FeatureCam or HSM-works desirable
  • Familiarity with vacuum equipment desirable
