NFPA 70E Electrical Inspector
Multiple year contract position with potential for direct hire for an Electrical Safety Inspector to work in Carlsbad, NM. Monthly paid trips home, strong per diem/expense package. 55+ hours/week. Day shift, rotating schedule allows for several days off at a time. Supporting the construction of multiple new buildings at the site.
Requirements:- Certified Electrical Inspector
- 5+ years’ experience in the field with NFPA 70E
- DOE experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities:- Review and submit appropriate documentation, identifying hazards, recommending hazard mitigation strategies, preparing and reviewing permits (confined space, hot work, etc.), and determining task-specific personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
- Manage lockout/tagout procedures ensuring safety
- Ensure all personnel have the appropriate training and that all project activities are conducted in accordance with job-specific requirements.
- Develop job hazard analyses and implement the assessments into field activities.
- Provide safety support to various areas within the organization.
- Inspect electrical wiring, equipment, and installations to ensure they comply with local codes or industry standards
- Inspect work performed by electricians on new construction projects, as well as work done by contractors who specialize in remodeling or repairs
- Inspect electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, and circuit breakers, to ensure they meet manufacturer specifications and ANSI/NFPA guidelines for safety
- Investigate fires, electrical accidents, or other incidents that involve electricity
- Inspect electrical equipment such as motors and generators to ensure they are properly installed and working efficiently
- Conduct tests to verify that electrical equipment meets industry standards for efficiency and capacity
