GSE Absolute Consulting, is currently working with a major client who are involved in manufacturing chemicals related to semiconductor devices, amongst others, located in the Phoenix, AZ geographical location. They are looking to hire a Logistics Manager on a full-time basis, starting asap!

Reports to: General Manager
Education: Must have a bachelor’s degree 
Must have manufacturing experience and cost accounting
Team: will likely be supervising a team of around 5-people

Qualifications and Knowledge
· Ability to communicate verbally and in writing to individuals and groups
· Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
· Ability to analyze and use various documents (contracts, purchase orders, etc.).
· Ability to use a computer and such applications as Microsoft Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint and be able to design custom reports as necessary.
· Must have supervisory skills and management experience

Overview
This position is responsible for managing the Company's logistics function, including enforcing logistics plans, developing logistics policies and procedures, and formulating and directing policies to provide a safe and healthy atmosphere within the workplace.

Job Duties and Responsibilities: safety is the number one priority for the organization. As a member of the management team, you are responsible for communicating to your employees on a continual basis the importance of conducting themselves in a safe manner.

Manages Logistics Operations: monitoring the quality, cost, and efficiency of the movement and storage of products; by ensuring that all transportation and warehousing functions are carried-out accurately and efficiently; by considering cost reduction strategies in logistics processes; by researching, planning, and implementing effective logistics strategies, procedures, and policies; by reviewing logistics strategies, policies, and procedures on a consistent basis and revising as necessary; and by managing all other aspects of logistics operations.

Performs Logistics Functions: verifying incoming and outgoing shipments; by ensuring the accuracy of all logistics related documents; by determining the most efficient and economical routing and mode of transportation; by directing the scheduling of shipments; by processing all relevant paperwork for import/export procedures; by arranging all transportation relevant to distribution and shipping, as well as transportation to and from the warehouse; by ensuring that the Company's logistics functions and information are up to date; by initiating investigations into damaged items and starting the claim process; by updating shipping schedules when necessary and informing the necessary parties, including customers, vendors, suppliers, shippers, and Staff; and by creating logistics reports as necessary.

Managers Inventory Control Functions: managing the performance of inventory related duties; by ensuring that appropriate inventory levels are maintained; by tracking and expediting inventory for delivery as needed; by enforcing strategies for the organization of inventory; by reconciling inventory discrepancies; and by managing all other inventory control functions as necessary.

Supports Customer Service: assisting MPCA customer service department with issues, answering questions, and resolving any problems in a timely manner; by tracking shipments and performing traces as requested; by expediting customer orders in a prompt and professional manner.

Ensures Smooth Operations: making sure that the division functions productively; by establishing guidelines; and by ensuring that Staff perform assigned tasks accurately, allowing the Company to maximize financial performance and limit risk.

Negotiates With Vendors: selecting and contracting with common carriers; by negotiating rates with vendors to ensure cost efficiency; by checking all freight charges and filing claims on overcharges; and by negotiating any other conditions as necessary for smooth logistics operations.

Keeps Officers Informed: participating in meetings; by reporting problems to Officers verbally or in writing to avoid confusion and further problems; and by recommending changes for improvements in the Company's functions to Officers.

Supervises Staff: providing direction and delegating responsibilities to subordinate Staff; by evaluating work performed by subordinate Staff; by training Staff when necessary; by providing subordinate Staff with regular feedback; by conducting Performance Appraisals; and by contributing to employment decisions (i.e., promotions, salary adjustments, termination, etc.).

Complies with Federal, State, and Local Requirements
-             Studying existing and new regulations; by adhering to requirements; and by filing
reports as necessary
-             Awareness of ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards
-             Performs other duties as required and assigned.

Education, Experience and Certification
· Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field; and
· 10 plus years related experience and/or
· Training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
