Position Description

Reporting directly to the Lumbee Tribe Enterprises, LLC (LTE) Board of Directors (LTE BOD), the Manager will provide leadership and execute the strategic objectives of the organization. A highly experienced leader with a proven track record capable of managing the day-to-day operations of our company. The right candidate must be ready to build and model a great company culture, provide inspired leadership to our executive team, establish a great working relationship with the board of directors and set a course for a company strategy and growth that will build upon past success. The right candidate understands that LTE plays a vital role among the subsidiaries of LTH. This leader must demonstrate an ability to carry out the responsibilities as Manager in the best interests of the Lumbee Tribe of North Carolina and its members.
 

Essential Functions


The Manager will:
 
  • Provide inspired leadership and instill a culture of excellence company-wide while responding to changing priorities.
  • Routinely make critical business decisions to ensure alignment with the LTE BOD approved priorities, which flow down from LTH.
  • Develop, recommend, and implement operational and strategic milestones.
  • Act as the primary spokesperson for the company with all outside agencies and organizations, in coordination with the LTE BOD Chairperson and the LTH President and CEO.
  • Oversee the company’s fiscal activity, including budgeting, reporting, and auditing.
  • Recruit and hire leaders capable and committed to excellence and transparency.
  • Ensure all legal and regulatory documents are filed in a timely manner, while ensuring 100% compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and laws.
  • Ensure operational procedures and practices are clearly defined, well documented, and consistently applied.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate potential crises/issues before they affect customer deliverables.
  • Build alliances and partnerships with other organizations and local, state, and federal government officials and leaders.
  • Ensure total compliance with National Industrial Security System (NISS) and related standards to safeguard the company’s facility clearance.
  • Create an environment and commitment to continuous process improvement to improve company profitability and achieve established profit margins.
  • Ensure matrixed/shared service resources/personnel are deployed as set forth in the enterprise-wide driven objectives.
  • Ensure LTE operations and efforts comply with the business strategy established by the LTE BOD and any requirements of the corporate parent – Lumbee Tribe Holdings, Inc.
  • Assist the LTE BOD, through sage advice and counsel, in carrying out the enterprise-wide strategic objectives and business opportunities, as set forth by the LTH BOD and LTH President and CEO.
  • Ensure all operational and strategic goals are met.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; professional/graduate degree preferred.
  • 10 years of relevant professional experience is required.
  • Well documented experience in a senior management position.
  • Must have experience working with 8(a) entities on federal projects.
  • Experience in government agency contract operations/support, 8(a) business companies, program management, reporting, and associated metrics.
  • Working knowledge of government contracts/processes including SBA, FAR etc.
  • Exposure to profit and loss, budgets, balance sheet and cash flow management, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or comprehensive understanding of how to lead a complex business operation in a matrixed/shared services environment.
 

Reports to

Reports directly to the Lumbee Tribe Enterprises, LLC Board of Directors (LTE BOD), while working closely with the LTH President and CEO.
 

Security Clearance Requirements

This position requires an active TOP SECRET security clearance.
 

Travel Requirements:

Frequent travel (>20%) is anticipated, within and outside the Continental United States.
