POSITION: Project Manager, Engineering

LOCATION: Remote

SUMMARY: Our client, an industry leading provider of clean hydrogen and zero-emission fuel cell solutions is hiring for a Project Manager to join their growing team. The Project Manager will develop and own the relationship/interface with external business partners that will be providing complex hydrogen generation assemblies either as a integrators, design/build partners, or contract manufacturers. The role requires close interaction with the sales, engineering, supply chain, quality, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure designs/deliverables meet cross functional requirements. This manager will maintain overall schedules and regularly meet with project team members to review project status, prioritize activities and plan future actions. This position plays a key role in managing engineering deliverables with both internal and external parties. The ideal candidate should exhibit both exceptional communication and project management skills along with a strong background in engineering. The successful candidate must be self-motivated, able to handle multiple project assignments and willing to learn and adapt within a fast-paced engineering organization.

 

CORE DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop bid packages to solicit & evaluate proposals from potential partners.
  • Lead teams of internal & external stakeholders through the product development process including requirements development, design, validation, and product release stages.
  • Create and maintain multiple complex schedules; setting priorities for contractor & engineering activities
  • Advise Company management of the program statuses on a regular basis
  • Translate vendor deliverables to the engineering team and lead the internal document control process to integrate the developed product with other parts of the organization
  • Coordinate the efforts of the engineering, sales and production departments to ensure programs are conducted in accordance with the requirements of sales orders and budgets
  • Independently anticipate potential schedule delays and initiate plans for alternative actions as needed; able to rearrange competing priorities to ensure all deadlines are met
  • Cross-functionally communicate between departments to ensure all parties involved are informed and up to date on project changes and delays
  • Coordinate prototype testing to qualify new designs
  • Hold cross functional design reviews throughout the development process
  • Work professionally and cooperatively in a cross-functional team environment with a focus upon maximizing system performance and customer satisfaction
  • Represent the organization in a professional manner in all interactions
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field of study
  • Minimum of four (4) years engineering experience with minimum one (1) year of project management experience in product development
  • Supervisory experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to travel, up to 20% of the time

 

Experience in any of the following is preferred and highly valued:

  • Hydrogen and/or fuel cells
  • Cryogenic Industry
  • High Pressure Systems (350 Bar and up)
  • Gas processing and/or dispensing equipment
  • Oil and Gas, CNG, LNG, etc.
  • Pharmaceuticals
