Girl Scouts of Central California South (GSCCS) is seeking an experienced Director of Development to join its dynamic team on a full-time basis. The Director of Development will assist in the execution and management of Girl Scouts of Central California South development (fundraising) efforts in the Fresno, Tulare, & Madera Markets. This role requires a highly strategic and visionary individual, as they will work directly with the VP of Fundraising and Communications to create, launch, and manage a new strategic development plan. The ideal candidate will systematically and effectively strengthen the organization’s overall fundraising capacity. The Director of Development has an emphasis on growing the organization’s individual donor portfolio by building and maintaining close relationships with key donors and serving as a spokesperson of GSCCS, as designated. This is a high-profile position, requiring strong networking and donor cultivation skills. The successful candidate will help forge new relationships with individuals in the community to build visibility and financial resources for GSCCS. This Director of Development role is a tremendous opportunity for someone passionate about Girl Scout’s mission, which is to build girls of courage, confidence, and character who make the world a better place! 
 
Essential Duties include (but not limited to):  
  • Strategize and implement full-cycle annual fund development activities to raise in excess of $1 million annually.
  • Personally solicit and cultivate major gifts.
  • Oversee and manage communications and marketing strategies.
  • Supervise department staff and volunteers throughout the designated five-county region and provide professional development and manage performance improvement.
  • Work collaboratively with GSCCS departments to meet the organization’s mission, vision and strategy.
  • Network with external community organizations to build meaningful professional relationships to support fundraising strategies and meet membership goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or a related field from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
  • Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE) certification desired.
  • Minimum five years’ professional experience in full cycle non-profit fundraising, with proven results and achievement in campaign development and major/principal gifts.
  • Ability to plan, initiate, market, and evaluate donor relations campaigns required.
  • Experience supervising staff; leading effective teams and/or volunteers; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of fundraising strategies, systems, and processes.
  • Experience managing budgets over $1M and prior direct responsibility for cultivating, soliciting and stewarding gifts of $25,000 or more.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and various training software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills; written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in public speaking at agency events and speaking engagements in the community.
  • Valid CA driver’s license, acceptable driving record, and automobile liability insurance.
