The Assembler III position reflects an advanced skillset, and is important to the manufacturing process in that they build complex electrical and mechanical assemblies as well as perform soldering functions. The Assembler III prepares and completes work by studying assembly instructions, parts lists, blueprints, and schematics to produce the assembled product. As well, this position will test units to assure readiness, and be responsible for first builds, assist in updating documentation and drawings in conjunction with Engineering.
Essential Job Functions:
The Assembler III will provide reliable and timely support in the building of complex mechanical and electrical assemblies as follows:
• Must perform all required electro-mechanical ,mechanical and opto-mechanical assemblies through all assembly levels using engineering drawings, schematics , BOMs, work instruction and quality standards
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, assembly drawings, and schematics
• Ability to read and follow POD production order descriptions to assemble finished product
• Ability to analyze mechanical and operational aspect of tools and equipment use to assemble product
• Ability to identify and gather parts required for the project
• Ability to install complex wiring per schematic requirement without supervision.
• Ability to build complex electrical assemblies and perform soldering functions
• Ability to produce fixtures and tools improve production performance
• Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify problems and generate ECRs engineering change requests to make corrections.
• Ability to implement corrective actions to improve assembly reliability
• Ability to download and program software to IC chips or PLCs
• Ability to write documentation of processes and procedures
• Maintain all records and documentation on builds
• Ability to work directly with Application to trouble shoot and repair on warranty products
• Comply with all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position primarily involves use of fine motor skills for calibration of equipment. Will also involve placement of product on carts to push to Applications Department for testing. Good vision is required for reading of diagrams and for higher level wiring projects. Process may require sitting or standing in the same position for long periods of time as needed to assemble a particular product.

SKILLS
  • Ability to read and write English

  • Ability to Read, Interpret, and Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Ability to calculate dimensions and tolerances utilizing micrometers & calipers
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Possess a strong working knowledge with Microsoft Office
  • Able to function in a dynamic, fast paced, environment
QUALIFICATIONS
• EXPERIENCE – 2-4 years of related experience preferred
• EDUCATION – High School Diploma or equivalent required, technical school experience preferred

Experience and Education can be an equivalent combination of preferred qualifications

WORKING CONDITIONS
This position will perform work at a workstation which may involve sitting or standing for long periods of time. Workstations will be located on the Machinist Shop which, on occasion, may be exposed to mechanical, chemical, and/or electrical hazards. Each employee is to maintain a clean and safe workplace to remove, as much as possible, any hazards which may exist. This position may require the ability to work overtime as needed to maintain the production flow.
