Description
The Crew Foreman is responsible for teaching the Crew the Centric way. The Crew Foreman will lead the Crew in all construction activity. The Crew Foreman will direct the Crew in the maintenance and repair of all Centric equipment and company property.

RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Coordinates and oversees activities of workers engaged in construction, installation, and repair of all fiber service and mainlines.
  2. Splice cables using hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment as required.
  3. Operate fiber optic splicers, cleavers, strippers.
  4. Proficient in using fiber tools and fiber optic test equipment including traffic meters, fusion splicer, power meter, VFL and OTDR.
  5. Ensures safety precautions are followed.
  6. Assemble parts in accordance with mechanical assembly drawings to ensure proper functionality.
  7. Properly document all work and tests performed in accordance with Company policies.
  8. Troubleshoot faulty components in a fiber optic system.
  9. Show attention to detail when setting up splice locations, termination points, and general fiber optic construction.
  10. Follow test procedures for testing new optical and mechanical products.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • One to two years of related experience.
  • Fusion splicing experience.
  • OTDR Testing and Trace Analysis.
  • Power Meter Testing.
  • Experience operating excavator/ mini excavator.
  • Related experience in a field operations environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
