Position Summary
The Actuarial Student works as part of the Actuarial team to build a positive and engaging culture reflective of Everlake values. The multi-functional Actuarial team supports financial and regulatory reporting across all of our Life and Annuity products, predominantly through the execution and maintenance of actuarial valuation and projection models.  The candidate selected for this opportunity will be responsible for an initial set of accountabilities while having future opportunities to rotate into new accountabilities. Exam support will be provided by the company while working towards ASA/FSA designation.

Key Responsibilities:

A successful individual in this role will be responsible in supporting asset projection models as well as annuity valuation and projection models, enabling regular financial and regulatory reporting. Model development and maintenance of supporting evidence for projections will also be a critical responsibility. This role works closely with other Actuarial staff, domestic and abroad, as well as accounting, finance, and investment professionals.

Additionally, the individual will be able to:
  • Demonstrate skills in mathematical/analytical thinking, interpersonal interactions, and independent judgment
  • Communicate technical information effectively, written and verbal
  • Learn the mechanics behind existing actuarial models in order to use, develop, and maintain in an effective manner
  • Understand and explain complexities of projecting insurance operations via actuarial models
  • Work well within expected timelines for regular model run execution and reporting
  • Be receptive to being adaptable and flexible in duties as business and personal development needs evolve
  • Be comfortable with change and ambiguity

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of relevant actuarial experience, preferably in a life insurance or annuity function
  • Bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 3+ SOA exams preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Relevant actuarial software experience, GGY AXIS preferred
  • Experience with asset balance sheet and asset modeling preferred
  • Effective and flexible communications with collaborative mindset
