Description
The West Coast Field Sales Manager is responsible for managing the customers in the Western United States territory and delivering the bookings business plan of that territory for MMT, as part of MMT’s vision of a cross-platform customer-facing organization. The Western Region covers all states west of North Dakota down to Louisiana. They will drive business development through new client prospection and existing customer development to support cross-selling of the Catheter and Guidewire business units across the Production Technology, Aftermarket, and Specialty Manufacturing verticals. Key to this role is driving the customer buying journey, AM attachment to maximize the position of MMT within the customer base. The results of this role's efforts will be meeting and exceeding the aggressive and transformational growth goals of the business. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Researches and identifies potential customers
  • Initiates the customer buying journey to discover the customer needs and the commercial fit within MMT
  • Presents the technical solutions provided by MMT to the clients leveraging Technical and Strategic sales resources if required
  • Ensures the bookings targets are achieved by managing the sales activity levels, using careful target selection to create a high-quality pipeline, and providing timely and accurate responses to RFQs
  • Stays up-to-date with the product and technical offerings across the Catheter and Grinding technologies business units to deliver credible information in the field.
  • Maintains accurate data in the CRM (Salesforce.com)
  • Meeting customer deadlines in the quoting/RFQ process
  • Ensures the maximum levels of cross-selling is achieved from the operating units and the verticals (Prod Tech, After Market and Spec MFG)
  • Achieves the Total Care attachment goals for the organization
  • Works with the Strategic and Technical sales to arrange customer meetings in pursuit of new business
  • Promotes the position and image of MMT with the clients
  • Provides regular updates to the commercial team and leadership on the status of the accounts
  • Monitors accounts for service and support levels and escalates and resolves any issues that could impact MMT's strategic growth plans Advocates on behalf of the client within the operating companies escalating unresolved issues to the appropriate level.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in Engineering, or related field.
  • 3-5 years’ experience in sales.
  • A commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Superb interpersonal skills, including the ability to quickly build rapport with both customers.
  • Competency in Microsoft applications, including word, excel, and outlook.
  • Able to work comfortably in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with selling/building automation components, i.e., control systems motors, sensor PLC’s, etc.
  • Strong technical understanding of PLC’s, HMI’s, Motor’s, Encoders, Sensor’s and Vision Systems
  • Ability to read wiring and electrical schematics
  • Experience with basic trouble shooting skills for machine building
