Go to work as a Project Engineer/Sales Engineer for one of the leading precision manufacturing aerospace companies in the United States.  They focus on the fabrication of flight critical gears and transmissions, accessory gearbox assemblies, rotorcraft drive systems, and other machined and fabricated parts for helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft (such as the Apache and Chinook helicopters).

Competitive salary (based on experience), 10% annual bonus, full benefits, relocation available.  Climate-controlled shop, opportunities for advancement, every other Friday off.  This role is open because the person previously in the job was promoted.  You will have the opportunity to influence the continued success of their business!

Location is just 15 miles SW of Chicago, IL.

The person hired into this role will interface with existing customers to define scope/requirements/costs for projects, work with engineering, procurement and finance to implement customer manufacturing requests.  There is no “cold calling” involved.

Requirements:                                  
  • Bachelor’s degree in technical discipline preferred, not required. 
  • MUST HAVE 2-3 years’ technical manufacturing experience. 
  • Engineering or Manufacturing project leadership experience.
  • Ability to drive projects effectively against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment
  • Comfortable operating in the midst of sophisticated technical activity, while retaining sharp focus on business outcomes
  • Excellent decisions maker, problem solver; Strong organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to brief senior level management both internally and externally
  • Knowledge and understanding of customer support requirements, maintenance concepts, capabilities, strategies
  • Ability to identify future growth opportunities and mitigate risk by direct interface with customers
  • Responsible for overall compliance, cost and schedules
  • Develop and maintains relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the work of a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring all customer requirements are satisfied throughout all phases of the project
  • Act as the principal point of contact with the customer and ensures effective day to day communications and relations are maintained
  • Responsible for all project deliverables, including customer satisfaction, quality to specification, technical achievement, schedule adherence and project/product cost targets/budgets
  • Ensure compliance with all aspects of the project specification and that tasks/work packages are undertaken in accordance with company policies and procedures; i.e.: project scope management
  • Ensure appropriate project visibility, using best practice disciplines and procedures to identify risk, track schedules adherence, manage hazards, maintain project files, using visual metric/management
  • Provide oversight of supply chain management and manufacturing support to ensure customer requirements are achieved
  • Support business development, as required, for: sales and marketing activities, customer presentations, specification development, contract negotiation, project planning and product costing.
