Description
This position is responsible for the accurate reporting of Texas Gas’ distribution and transmission pipeline assets utilizing various tools including GIS, ArcPro, ArcMap, etc. This includes research, modifications and updates to the pipe specifications, pipeline features and pipeline facilities. This position reports to the Director of GIS.


RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  1. Utilize ESRI ArcGIS tools, software (ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcCatalog, ArcToolbox etc.) and online/mobile applications
  2. Assist with QA/QC process to ensure CAD and/or GIS production standards are maintained.
  3. Interprets imagery, surveys, as-built drawings, and engineering/construction drawings of both existing and proposed gas distribution facilities to enter, modify, and update GIS data.
  4. Updates, maintains shapefiles with One Call System (811).
  5. Performs data gathering, analysis, and conversion tasks
  6. Produces detailed digital and hard copy maps, presentations.
  7. Perform tasks with a high degree of efficiency, detail, accuracy and quality
  8. Work both independently and in a team environment to meet project needs
  9. Research archived hardcopy and digital pipeline asset documentation

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Geography, GIS, or related engineering or science discipline.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a related position. A combination of experience and education may be taken into consideration
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to create, update, and modify databases including MS Access databases and ESRI geodatabases.
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • ESRI ArcMap 10.2 or higher
  • Strong understanding of cartographic principles
  • Strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong time-management skills and schedule flexibility to accommodate multiple project deadlines and deliverables and the ability to follow procedures
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and work professional alongside all levels of the organization both within and outside of the company.
  • Up to 10% travel
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, Google Earth Pro
  • Familiarity with Smartsheets, HubSpot, and webhooks
  • Ability to write/utilize scripts (such as Python, SQL)
  • Ability to create apps within ESRI’s online and mobile applications suite (Survey123, Web AppBuilder, Operations Dashboard, Workforce)
  • Ability to learn new software and applications as needed
  • Knowledge of PHMSA 49 CFR 192, ASME B31.8S
  • Ability to update existing regulatory and integrity management documents and author new reports as needed
