Description

The Technical Sales Manager serves as a key customer facing technical expert regarding Production Technologies within the business unit. While directly interfacing with customers and providing an important voice within the commercial organization, they will provide commercial and technical support to the strategic account management and field sales team. Key to this role is driving growth in bookings and revenues for the associated business units through the management of local business development plans, direct interaction with Key Customers and serving as a thought leader and spokesperson for the organization. The result of this role’s efforts will be securing the reputation of MMT and the operating units as having the best in class product lines and achieving the specific commercial business plans of the operating units.
 
Key Responsibilities:
 

  • Performs as the customer facing subject matter experts within the Business and Operating units
  • Supports the Field Sales by:
    • Overseeing the assembly of Production Technology quotes
    • Providing technical consultation on the equipment/process solution
  • Secures the revenue and bookings targets of the Business / Operating Unit
  • Follows up on direct to inbound leads and coordinates back with the Field Sales team in the in the associated territory
  • Promotes the technical application of the equipment within the customer base through webinars, travels to key customers and tradeshow attendance.
  • Partners with the Strategic Accounts Team and other Technical Sales staff to present and support the cross-selling activities
  • Fosters relationships to gain repeat orders
  • May manage the local inside sales teams, technical sales personnel and associated administrative resources if required
  • Escalates issues that may affect the customer experience or reputation of the organization
  • Maintains accuracy of sales and marketing collateral
