We are currently looking for a Assistant Project Manager to join our team. We need someone who is deadline driven to oversee projects & to act as a link between various team members. In this role, you will lead & manage the on-site construction teams & oversee all work being completed. You will ensure quality standards are met, & all equipment & materials are always available on site. We value passionate, down to earth “can do” people who enjoy fine-tuning small details without losing sight of the big picture.
This is an in office position, M-F. Franklin, TN

What you will be doing:
- Assist in management of commercial construction projects
- Schedule, coordinate, & manage subcontractors to ensure timely project completion
- Proactively identify design deficiencies, schedule concerns, & other project issues
- Manage relationships with clients, internal team, subcontractors, & inspectors
- Maintain appropriate documentation throughout the project and submit progress & updates through online project management tool
- Ensure quality standards are met
- Keep an eye on budget & overall spending for a project
- Prepares accurate estimates for material, labor, equipment, subcontractors, & general conditions
- Develops & nurtures relationships with subcontractors & suppliers
- Ensures compliance with all specifications, contract requirements, & bid invitations
- Communicates effectively with subcontractors & vendors during the process
- Transmits addenda & other bid information to subcontractors
- Develops RFI’s, addendums & clarifications & ensures distribution to all stakeholders
What we’re looking for:
- 1 years of experience in retail construction preferred
- Ability to work under pressure while coordinating numerous construction projects
- Ability to read & interpret blueprints
- OSHA Certification is a plus
- Excellent interpersonal & communication skills, both written & verbal
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite & web-based programs
- Strong organization & time management skills
- Has a basic understanding of construction.
- Willing to learn any and all aspects of project management
- Assists with RFI’s, sending out bid packages to subs, reviewing bid packages, estimating, putting together client bid packages, and project scheduling.
- Reviews and updates internal project schedules, milestones, start / completion dates, etc.
- Assists in setup of services and approvals in the pre-job planning phase.
- Prepares cost forecasts and projections.
- Understands and reviews prime contract types.
- Evaluates technical submittals.
- Assists in writing and administering subcontracts, executing buy-outs, and manages change orders as needed.
- Understands and helps PM manage all costs associated with a change request.
- Assists in creating and maintaining meeting agendas.
- Completes contingency and allowance logs and other documentation as needed.
