Description

GSE is working with a major client that is seeking a Water/Wastewater Engineer, Mid-Level to support our clients vision of becoming the best water consulting firm in the United States. As part of their team, you will work on projects related to municipal water and wastewater treatment plants, including but not limited to major treatment plant expansions, regional water quality studies, and critical water reuse projects that will create sustainable and resilient water supplies for the world.

Responsibilities

  • Participates in programs throughout the United States to supplement the team’s expertise
  • Assists Management and Engineering staff with Capital Improvement Program (CIP) management, governance, and organizational structure development and consulting
  • Prepares and delivers evaluations, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Anticipates client needs and works with the client to determine objectives and requirements of new task assignments
  • Develops significant relationships with new and existing clients and shares responsibility for client maintenance
  • Involved in exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches
  • Assists with marketing efforts, including development of proposal and interview materials
  • Plans, schedules, and conducts Program Management work on projects of medium to large sizes of moderately complex nature
  • Responsible for budget, schedule, contractual obligations and quality standards
  • Initiates and maintains contacts with key engineers and officials of other organizations and companies
  • Involved in exploration of subject area, definition of scope and selection of problems for investigation, and development of novel concepts and approaches
  • Works closely with subconsultants on projects
  • Active in professional associations, including attendance and participation in local, regional, and national conventions
  • Travel required when requested

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related field of study
  • Greater than seven (7) years of experience (exclusive of any advanced degree)
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer or the ability to obtain within six months
  • Demonstrated experience in the planning, design and construction phase of small, medium, and large sized infrastructure projects
  • Experience includes water and wastewater facilities, wastewater collection systems, water transmission/distribution projects, reclaimed master plans/studies, pipeline rehabilitation projects, pump stations, and reservoirs
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team
  • Creative, foresight and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems
