Our multinational client, a leading worldwide supplier of high performance optical sensors is in search of a:

Tasks and responsibilities

• Layout, and fully verify, analog and mixed-signal cells according to wafer fab design rules, delivering high-quality, manufacturable layouts in the agreed timescales
• All Layout activities including top, cell and block level creation, edit and full verification
• Use state-of-the-art layout techniques for matching, ESD, latch-up prevention and parasitic reduction
• Work with an estimation of layout timescales plus any subsequent re-estimations due to design changes
• Responsible for high-quality and efficient layout reviews with TPL, Layout Manager and other key stakeholders. Monitor, report and present recommendations for progress against project plan, key risk and any issues that arise
• Be the technical expert (senior staff role) in multiple aspects of layout and proactively support development of other team members
• Working closely in collaboration with colleagues in design and layout to ensure effective communication and alignment on block and cell requirements
• Participation at all relevant project meetings
• Maintain a layout workspace that is consistent with current working practice (directory structures, etc.)
• Internal interaction with other layout departments, analog design team, process department and data transfer

Qualifications

• Typically 4-8 years experience (staff role) 6-10 years experience (senior staff role) of block level through to top-level layout, including floor planning, power routing and full verification prior to tape-out
• Thorough understanding of the impact of their layout in terms of yield and financial implication  Demonstrable competence in ‘Design for Manufacture’ techniques
• Proficiency in providing accurate estimation of layout timescales and timescale risks
• Excellent team player (with mentoring skills for senior staff role)
• Competence and expertise in providing layouts to deadline as defined by project plans
• Expert in Cadence Virtuoso tool suite (ADE-XL) and Mentor Calibre verification
• Command of verbal and written English to the standard required to work in international project teams
