Job Summary: 
Perform civil/structural design assignments associated with designing equipment, components, structures or systems. 

Job Qualifications & Skills:
  • AutoCAD and CADWorx 3D software experience is required.  
  • A minimum of (5) years of technical work experience is required.  
  • Experienced in offshore oil & gas industry is required.  
  • Field experience is required.   
  • TWIC is required.  
  • Ability to work on multiple small projects quickly and simultaneously while maintaining quality. Ability to climb up on tall structures.  
  • Proficient knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Plant 3D, and CADWorx 3D. 
  • Must demonstrate a sound understanding of design concepts with minimum engineering input. 
Job Responsibilities & Accountabilities: 
  • Develops under minimal supervision CADD drawings from design sketches or catalog information. 
  • With some supervision, performs basic engineering/design calculations, sizing civil/structural components and layouts to produce efficient and workable drawings for projects. 
  • Communicates the design process within the civil/structural discipline and coordinates work with other disciplines. 
    With some supervision, select, design and write specifications and general notes for the civil/structural scope of work.
  • Demonstrate a continuing consciousness of safety in daily activities, and implementation of them in the work designed. 
  • Marks up preliminary or existing drawings and sketches for others to draft (or CADD). 
  • Prepares simple engineering and construction drawings from scratch, from sketches, or from verbal instructions, utilizing manual or CADD drafting/design techniques. 
  • Perform related fundamental engineering support tasks such as updating computer lists, filing prints, distributing drawings, making simple calculations, proofreading reports, compiling Bills of Material, etc. 
  • Utilize information from vendor prints, catalogs, technical manuals, etc. to do design work. Prepare field notes that are neat, accurate, and arranged in an orderly manner. Prepare sketches that are legible and contain pertinent dimensions, notes, and job number. Must be competent and experienced with design codes, specifications, and standards. Must demonstrate a sound understanding of design concepts with minimum engineering input.  Prepare design documents that are signed and dated with job number. 
  • Use time and materials efficiently. 
  • Keep supervisor informed of progress in a proactive manner. 
  • Instill Quality Assurance in all work products.
  • Utilize site visits to the Client facility in order to verify all civil/structural aspects of the project assignment, including a “plan-in-hand” check of all deliverables.
