Position Description:
Data Analyst will be responsible for analyzing data from operating wind, solar, and battery storage projects, and developing systems and metrics to track performance of the facilities.

Duties:
  • Analyze meteorological and production data collected at operating sites
  • Identify and resolve field data quality issues
  • Compare observed performance against expectations, and categorize causes of lost production
  • Develop analytics and processes to identify leading indicators of equipment failure
  • Identify opportunities for performance optimization
  • Assist in development of baseline production and loss expectations
  • Build automated processes to track and regularly report performance metrics
  • Review and analyze contractual performance test results
  • Build web-based interfaces for tracking and visualizing project performance
  • Travel approximately 10% of the time

Qualifications:
  • 3+ years in renewable energy
  • Experience with relational databases and ‘big data’ platforms
  • Experience with scientific programming languages (e.g. MATLAB, Python)
  • Familiarity with wind and solar energy assessments and industry-standard modeling software
  • Experience building and validating machine learning models
  • Experience performing statistical and uncertainty analysis
  • BS in meteorology, engineering or other scientific field; MS preferred
