Accounting and Business Manager responsibilities include:

  • Managing and overseeing the daily operations of the accounting and business needs of the company

  • Monitoring and analyzing accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

  • Establishing and enforcing proper accounting methods, policies and principles

  • Capital Planning and support of the CEO and VP.

Job brief
We are looking for an Accounting and Business Manager to supervise, track and evaluate day-to-day activities. Accounting and Business Manager responsibilities include establishing financial status by developing and implementing systems for collecting, analyzing, verifying and reporting information. We are also looking for someone to work closely with our financial management team. The role will evolve as we are a startup. The management of base business needs with our Human Resources, Banking, CPA and Tax professionals, Insurance and other related business functions will be performed.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting and general business needs of the company including:

    • calendar deadlines: Daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and end-year deadlines

    • accounts payable/receivable

    • cash receipts

    • general ledger

    • payroll and utilities

    • treasury, budgeting

    • cash forecasting

    • revenue and expenditure variance analysis

    • capital assets reconciliations

    • trust account statement reconciliations,

    • check runs

    • fixed asset activity

    • debt activity

    • business vendors and contract management

    • support to other executives on the leadership team

    • invoicing, sales and marketing support and reporting/ CRM reconciliation

    • system integration leadership and support depending on the system

    • metric reporting system

    • capital planning and fundraising support with the leadership team

  • Monitor and analyze accounting data and produce financial reports or statements

  • Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies and principles

  • Coordinate and complete annual audits

  • Provide recommendations

  • Improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions

  • Assign projects and direct activities and milestones to ensure compliance and accuracy

  • Meet financial accounting objectives

  • Establish and maintain fiscal files and records to document transactions

  • Establish a schedule and calendar of items for proactive completion

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as Accounting Manager, Accounting Supervisor or Finance Manager

  • Advanced computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases

  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data

  • Proven knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles, practices, standards, laws and regulations

  • High attention to detail and accuracy

  • Ability to direct and supervise

  • Ability to lead initiatives and influence stakeholders and contributors

  • BS or associates degree in Accounting or Finance - Combination of education and experience will be considered
