Senior Project Engineer, Cloud

Job Purpose
The Senior Cloud Project Engineer must effectively and efficiently drive toward successful cloud project integrations and professional IT Services to our valued client base. As a Tier 3 subject matter expert for IT solutions, the project engineer provides technical oversight and ensures the project team produces the best possible outcomes for our clients through proper design and implementation. The Project Engineer's deeply specialized knowledge and skills help ensure Corsica's ability to solve even the most complex issues our clients face. The expertise and guidance provided by this role are critical to winning client trust and building the long-term relationships Corsica seeks with all our clients.
Responsibilities:
  • Serve as a Tier 3 resource and escalation point for the rest of the project team on cloud projects, as needed.
  • Provide mentorship and technical oversight to Project Administrators and support Project Engineers.
  • Provide project staging of equipment and software.
  • Communicate effectively with both project management as well as client points of contact and end users.
  • Complete Project Implementation and Deployments.
  • Complete project assignments as tasked (onsite or remote).
  • Provide project status updates to Engineering Manager and Project Coordinator daily.
  • Complete project discovery tasks to include site surveys and working with clients to understand their needs and then transition findings and client notes to Solutions Engineer for project scoping.
  • Draft client recommendations to Solutions Engineer, vCIO and/or Client Service Manager for review with client.
  • Update PSA software daily with progress of project tasks and other assignments.
  • Post-project quality assurance testing assistance.
  • Serve as client point-of-contact for end user training of new cloud systems deployed.
  • Maintain service software documentation and standards.
  • Work with other technical groups and engineers as required.
  • Complete additional Integrations team tasks as assigned by Engineering Manager.
  • Train team members on new technologies as required for Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 to take over support of clients post project.
  • Stay up-to-date with technology through ongoing education.
  • Participate in Service Strategy to assist Corsica in designing and supporting the best solutions for our clients.
Education, Experience, and Certifications:
Required
  • Bachelor's Degree in any IT related field OR equivalent technical certifications (Azure Architect, Azure Administrator Associate, MS 365 Certified, VMWare VCP, etc.)
  • 4+ years of professional experience implementing IT services in Office365 and/or MS Azure Cloud
  • 5+ years of Windows Server level technology experience (Windows Server 2008, 2012, 2016, 2019) as well as the Windows Server Core services (Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, Hyper V)
  • 6+ years of Microsoft Cloud Solutions/Services experience, including MS Azure and Office365
  • Experience creating technical documentation
Preferred
  • 1+ year of Linux systems experience
  • Experience working with security compliance standards

Work Environment
Depending on assigned and targeted geography, work may be performed from a home office that provides a suitable work environment appropriate for focused and intense work. In some cases, work will be performed in a climate-controlled office space.
Travel
This position will require travel. Most travel will be regional. Occasional overnight travel should be expected. Must have valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
Physical Demand
  • Candidate should be able to lift 25 pounds.
  • Job will require sitting for long periods of time and may occasionally require bending, lifting, and driving.

Position Type/Expected Hours
This is a full-time position for five, eight-hour days (40 hours total) per week. A one-hour lunch break is provided. The typical shift starts at 8:00 AM and ends at 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.
