What you will do:
Rumble is seeking an experienced Senior Rust Engineer to oversee the design and implementation of code based on specific user requirements.- Writing high quality, performant, reliable and easy to maintain code
- Take ownership of projects, features and microservices from start to finish, including
design, implementation, testing, and launch - Being adaptable, developing both web applications and server software
- Able to understand and fix minor bugs in different languages
- Ability to convert other languages to Rust as required
- Collaborating with other developers in a team environment to develop applications
- Analyzing requirements to determine best approaches for implementing new
features or fixing bugs - Mentoring less experienced developers
- Understanding and advocating for the needs of our users
- Testing new features to ensure that they work as intended
- Recommending changes to existing code to improve its functionality
- Expert level experience writing clean, maintainable, and well-documented code
with the Rust programming language - Moderate or better experience in one or more of the following languages:
Javascript, Java, C, C++, PHP, Python, Golang - Proven success working with advanced data structures and algorithms
- Significant experience working with secure coding practices
- Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
- Proven ability to work well under pressure and demonstrate strong
problem-solving skills - Highly detail-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
- Ability to be innovative, with excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to
turn ambiguous problems into clear solutions - Experience administering and configuring servers and virtual machines
- Ability to optimize heavy applications and have an understanding of the
lower-level functionality that contribute to the problem - Understanding of the various problems that may exist when latency between
servers is introduced, and writing code that is resilient to network latency and
intermittent issues - Experience working with network applications utilizing TCP and UDP
- Experience processing large log files (in various formats) quickly and
incrementally

Remote: Eastern Time Zone only, also willing and able to travel 10%-25% of the time (mostly domestic)
