About the Position:
National Grid Renewable’s Procurement team is seeking a summer 2023 Sourcing Specialist Intern. This role will expand on the student's current academic qualification and working experiences, introduce them to the changing business environment, will challenge their analytical and management skills, and grow their ability to perform well in a complicated business world. The duties of the intern will have a real impact on the firm, and the student will present the assigned project(s) to leadership staff at the end of the summer. This individual will learn fast in a changing and growing company and will take away “real world experience” as well as a better understanding of supply chain in the renewable energy industry.

What You'll Do:
  • Research supplier landscape, risks, and benefits in global markets
  • Research criteria for alternative sourcing, associated risks and how its’ supply chain can contribute to the business needs
  • Reviews current business process flows and data usage to identify areas of opportunity and improvement
  • Visualize and automate data from existing Excel based bid procurement data analysis tools into PowerBI reports/dashboards
  • Collaborate with other departments and support procurement activities
  • Triaging various analysis/reporting issues with for the group.
  • Other duties as assigned
What You'll Need:
  • MBA student studying supply chain, business, finance, economics, data science, or other relevant subject
  • Some experience working with multiple ERP systems: SAP, Tableau, Ariba, Spend Analytics
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and other Business Intelligence Tools
  • Understands how to analyze global markets and supply chain and extract information for strategic decision making
  • Excellent quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Time management capabilities
  • Self-starter in a remote or in-person environment
  • Organized with a willingness to learn
  • Highly motivated, energetic, and a positive attitude
