We have an opening for an experienced Professional Engineer with at least 8 years of experience working in the water and wastewater industry working with design, project planning, client management and more.

This role will report directly to the VP of this department and will manage 12 planners.

They need someone based in Washington, Oregon or Idaho.

Our team focuses on water, wastewater, stormwater, and recycled water hydrologic and hydraulic modeling and planning with opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects from traditional master planning, hydraulic modeling, to developing alternatives analysis and system improvements in collaboration with our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Develop traditional as well as integrated master plans for municipal water, wastewater, or stormwater utilities.
  • Conduct data analysis for hydrologic conditions, sanitary and storm flows, water demands, system hydraulics, etc.
  • Develop conceptual site plans and cost estimates.
  • Conduct system modeling for water, wastewater, and stormwater systems.
  • Assist with permitting and alternatives analysis.
  • Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
  • Support and develop client relations.
  • Share knowledge and provide technical guidance and mentor junior engineering staff on master planning and hydraulic modeling projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
  • 8 or more years of directly relevant experience in water, sewer, and stormwater system modeling, and master planning.
  • Project management skills with demonstrated experience managing staff with scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Ability to apply engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
  • Familiarity with computer applications including ArcGIS, CAD software, and water and sewer hydraulic modeling packages from Autodesk (Inovyze and XPSWMM), Bentley, and DHI Mike.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
  • Work well in a team environment.
  • Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and project team.
  • Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering
  • Registration as a Professional Engineer
