GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The Human Resources Manager will direct and execute Human Resource strategies and initiatives for the job site including training and development, staffing, employee relations, talent management, culture, and employee engagement. Responsible for implementing policies and programs encompassing recruitment, benefits, compensation, training, worker’s compensation, safety, and organizational development. Key liaison between employees and the company to provide a great place to work. 

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
  • Lead an HR team providing support and planning including headcount planning, staffing initiatives, rewards, organizational effectiveness, team development, employee relations, performance management, and recognition programs. 
  • Support current and future site needs with conflict resolution and advise on employee relations issues and the application of Human Resources policies, procedures, practices and employment law, standards, and government regulations. 
  • Partner with members of the Leadership Team (LT) to champion strategic initiatives focused on organizational culture, the employee experience, and applicable organizational changes.  Provide ongoing and targeted coaching support to business leaders, including Directors and Managers. 
  • Guide, direct, and support leaders in performance management and corrective action for progressive discipline up to and including the termination decision-making and approval process. 
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze data, making recommendations to the management team for corrective action and continuous improvement. 
  • Partner with the LT to support and define cultural, engagement, and change initiatives to execute implementation plans. 
  • Assist with implementation, enrollment, and responding to inquiries regarding employee benefits programs. 
  • Partner with LT, Managers, and Supervisors in the training, administration, and documentation of the progressive disciplinary process while ensuring compliance with applicable labor laws, including DE&I, EEOC, FMLA, ADA, WC, FLSA, ADEA, and more. Identify legal requirements, updates, and government reporting regulations for all sites 
  • Implement program audits to review for compliance, identify training needs, and ensure proper record-keeping and documentation. 
  • Assess and develop training programs and act as a facilitator in delivering effective employee development programs. 
  • Provide all appropriate HR support to other sites in other states if needed. 
  • Partners with management to communicate Human Resources policies, procedures, programs, and laws. 
  • Determines and recommends employee relations practices necessary to establish a positive employer­ employee relationship and promote a high level of employee morale and engagement 
  • Conducts periodic surveys to measure employee satisfaction and employee engagement. 

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship-building and employee coaching skills. 
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, organization development, employee relations, safety, DE&I, employee engagement, and employee development. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop HR department and staff members. 
  • Demonstrated ability to serve as a knowledgeable resource to the ELT that provides overall company leadership and direction. 
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Excel and skills in Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) 
  • Ability to lead a team of approximately 2-3 direct reports. 
  • Proven knowledge of various employment laws and practices and experience working in a corporate environment. 
  • Experience in the administration of benefits, compensation, recognition, and engagement programs and processes. 
  • Ability to practice and coach the organization’s Managers with a high level of confidentiality. 
  • Excellent organizational management skills. 

WORK EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
  • 7+ years of related human resources experience, including a minimum of 4 years of prior HRBP experience. 
  • Prior HRBP experience in the pharmaceutical, and/or manufacturing environments preferred. 
  • Demonstrated success with stretch assignments that are evidence of superior performance in previous roles. 
  • Extensive knowledge working with PEO and HRIS. 
  • 3 years minimum of Management experience 

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • SHRM-SCP or SHRM-CP preferred  
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or business-related field. Master’s degree preferred. 
  • Travel may be required up to 15% of the time. 
  • Knowledge of multi states employment laws and regulations. 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee will be performing work in multiple buildings on the campus.  

Frequently required to stand and walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee will be required to focus on reading/evaluating documents and is expected to have great attention to detail.
