Western Technologies Inc. is a 65-years young consulting firm offering professional services in the western United States in the fields of geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, construction materials engineering and testing, nondestructive testing and welding inspection.
We have an immediate full-time opportunity for an experienced ICC Special Inspector in our Salt Lake City office. The ideal candidate will have experience performing construction testing and inspection of soil, concrete, masonry, structural steel and/or spray-applied fireproofing.
Essential Functions- On site observations/inspections to confirm compliance with local building codes and project contract documents
- Collecting samples
- Performing specific QA/QC tests on construction materials and building components per ASTM, ACI, etc. standards
- Compiling detailed records of observations, inspections, and test results
Qualifications- Be thoroughly knowledgeable regarding the standards related to the construction and inspection of reinforced concrete and masonry structures
- Be able to read and understand structural blueprints and current code requirements
- Must have a clean Motor Vehicle Record and pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Ability to lift and carry 30 to 50+ pounds,
