Reporting to: Director, Supply Chain & Logistics
Description:
As the Clinical Supply & Logistics Manager, you will ensure all AVEO logistics activities are
conducted in accordance with GxP guidelines as well as customs and other applicable governmental
agencies regulations. This role will provide direct oversight to import/export distribution
processes in collaboration with Global Trade Consultants, internal teams and CMO/CDMOs to ensure
compliance with all applicable trade laws, statutes, regulations and product quality
specifications. This position will also be responsible for managing all transportation of raw
materials, drug substance, drug product and clinical supplies to support AVEO’s programs.
This individual will be accountable for the following activities:
• Implement a wider network of trade and logistics vendors to allow for a more flexible global
supply chain, including couriers, brokers, and specialized trade consultants.
• Assist in the review and approval of contracts, budgets and invoices from logistics and trade
service providers.
• Work closely with consultants on formal inquiries from Global Customs and/or Trade authorities
to ensure proper response is provided.
• Assist in the review of contracts and logistics strategies to ensure international distribution
pathways are aligned with the import/export regulations and the business needs.
• Coordinating distribution of available raw materials, in process drug substance, and drug
product across all manufacturing, storage, and testing sites globally.
• Coordinate GxP controlled document review, approval process cross functionally.
• Schedule pick up, delivery and tracking of products as they move throughout our
network.
• Work closely with contract manufacturers, warehouses, and internal stakeholders to ensure
correct material and quantities are shipped.
• Assist in the set-up/implementation of new tools/systems to improve/enhance inventory accuracy
and service levels.
• Creating, review and archiving international shipping documents for Customs, Tax Revenue
authorities and other governmental agencies.
• Ensure continuous, uninterrupted supply chain flow by ensuring compliance with transport and
trade regulations.
• Develop, establish and implement global policies and standard operating procedures, work
instructions and effective internal controls in the area of logistics and trade operations.
• Support Clinical Secondary Packaging & Labeling activities as needed.
Qualifications
• Technical degree or equivalent (BA/BS), preferably in a scientific or pharmaceutical discipline.
• Industry professional with 4-7 years combined experience in functional area (e.g. logistics) or
related field.
• Proven problem solving, decision-making skills, ability to work with a high level of integrity,
accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Communicates clearly, efficiently, and accurately with internal team members and external
partners.
• Strong understanding and experience with international trade compliance laws and regulations
including but not limited to, imports, exports, economic sanctions, Harmonization Tariff system
(HTS), country of origin, boycott laws and Free Trade Agreements.
