We have an immediate full-time opportunity for a geotechnical field engineer/geologist in our Salt Lake City office.
Essential Functions- Assist in analysis of soil to determine engineering characteristics
- Review engineering plans
- Inspect development sites
- Perform seismic refraction and refraction-micro tremor tests
- Collect, log and oversee soil and rock sampling
- Perform and oversee laboratory tests
- Assist in writing technical reports
- BS or upcoming BS in civil engineering or geology preferred, but not required
- Have an interest in geotechnical engineering
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel)
- Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills
- Have a strong work ethic and attention to detail
- Willingness to learn and accept new challenges
- Be able to work both independently and as a team member
- Have a valid driver’s license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record
- Be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Be able to work outside in various weather conditions
