Position Description
National Grid Renewables is seeking an experienced Developer to lead the development of solar and storage projects in the MISO market in Wisconsin. The Developer will be directly responsible for the business and project development activities of the company’s pipeline of projects within the market.

Duties
  • Directly manage and lead project development, including site acquisition and negotiation.
  • Identify the market opportunities for developing utility scale solar, utility scale wind and battery storage projects
  • Identify commercialization strategies of the project developments
  • Work with a remote team, including land agents and consultants
  • Coordinate interdepartmentally with Financial Modeling, Engineering, Construction, Real Estate and Permitting team to ensure project viability.
  • Lead and manage community outreach including local governmental units, local agencies, organizations, and community members about project development
  • Manage relationships with project partners and landowners
  • Represent National Grid Renewables with federal, state and local officials, regulators, utilities, RTOs, and other stakeholders throughout the project development process.
  • Work closely with the permitting team on obtaining entitlements (land use permits, environmental permits) for each project
  • Research local land use ordinances for applicability to solar development
  • Represent the company and project at public hearings
  • Create and manage project budgets
  • Other duties as assigned

Experience
Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of project development experience (energy, real estate, housing development, etc.)
  • Proven leadership capabilities
Education:
  • College Degree
  • Preferred areas of study include land use planning, economics, environmental policy/science, or business.
