The Mechanical Assembler II requires a high degree of problem-solving ability, ability to assemble complex and precision mechanical assemblies and complicated mechanisms to build a quality product. The machinery has critical dimensional specifications and operating relationships where fitting of components, calibration of operating units, alignment and/or balancing of completed assemblies requires the application of skilled mechanical principles and a broad knowledge of assembly techniques. The Mechanical Assembler II assists with final inspection and testing of machinery to ensure equipment meets performance standard and requirements.
Overview-
Mechanical Assembly of complex mechanical units where a high degree of problem-solving and extreme care, skilled workmanship, and accuracy are required to meet strict inspection, testing and operating specifications

Position, erect, align, level; position sub-assemblies, units, and separates components and integrate their operations; performs fitting, aligning, timing, calibrating, and other operations incidental to the mechanical assembly of the machine.
Essential duties and responsibilities

Ability to read and follow work instructions and procedures

Read and interpret engineering prints/specifications, electrical schematics, manufacturing manuals, and/or verbal/written instructions to determine necessary assembly of machine

Utilize handheld tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, drill guns, crimpers, etc.

Use a variety of precision measuring and gauging instruments e.g. scale, calipers, etc., to inspect and verify conformance of parts to specifications/tolerances

Perform quality work checks to ensure the product meets quality standards

Discern quality of parts and materials used in production.

Identify product defects and complete appropriate documentation when defects are identified

Assemble components according to engineering drawings

Integrate components and motors and sensors as needed
-
Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures
-
Maintain a clean and safe work area
-
Ability to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem and to think in such a way as to produce a new concept or idea

High attention to detail and self-motivation skills

Maintain process cycle time to keep pace with established standards
-
Performs basic data entry to update status of job orders.

Completes all required documentation and reports labor accurately and on a timely basis.

Understands and complies with safety guidelines, quality system procedures and housekeeping standards.

Able to analyze problems and offer solutions

Comply with all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives.

Requirements
-
2 – 4 years of related experience preferred.
-
Experience with centerless grinding a plus.
-
Highschool Diploma or equivalent required, technical school experience preferred.

Regularly possess manual dexterity to put parts or pieces together quickly and accurately
