Lawrence Group’s St. Louis office is seeking a Project Accounting Coordinator. This role will collaborate with project teams to provide a wide range of project-related services. This role requires a high level of initiative, multi-tasking and problem-solving along with an eagerness to learn processes and documentation specific to the design industry.

Position responsibilities:
 
  • Work closely with Architectural Project Managers to ensure accurate and timely project budgeting and appropriate job costing
  • Manage consultant invoice review and approval process through data entry, billing, and payment.
  • Ensure project reports are accurate, clear, and updated prior to providing reports to Project Managers monthly
  • Perform in-depth investigations of project expenses that may have overlooked client billings
  • Respond to Project Manager requests with project details as needed
  • Manage project accounting processes: Setup in Deltek Ajera, editing projects, updating project schedules, archiving completed projects,
  • Create RFPs for consultants as needed
  • Monitor Accounts Receivable - follow up with clients about late payments, coordinate with accounting and project teams, if requested
  • Develop and facilitate internal staff training on project controls / project administration best practices​​​​​​
Professional Skills/Knowledge
  • Strong organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills
  • 3 + years of accounting experience, preferably in the A/E industry
  • Adaptability to changing priorities, approaches, and deadlines
  • Highly skilled in all Microsoft Office applications with the willingness and ability to learn new programs
  • Experience with any of the following software programs are a plus: Deltek Ajera, Treblehook, Open Asset
  • Positive attitude that encourages teamwork and respect for others
  • Initiative to seek out work and recommend improvements in process and quality
  • Exceptional communication skills – confident, efficient, and proactive
  • The flexibility to occasionally offer support outside regular business hours
  • Exceptional customer service, communication, and collaboration skills
