Come join our diverse and innovative EMD team! UBT was recently voted as the TOP place to work by the Detroit Free Press two years in a row! We have an immediate need for an Electrical Engineer! Our new team member will be responsible for developing electronic/electromechanical projects.

Requirements:
  • Electronic technical and engineering knowledge and skills, BSEE, CSEE, or equivalent work experience. Minimum 10 years’ experience with progressive responsibility.

Specific Responsibilities:

 
  1. Execution of Product Design: Execute Hardware and Software Specification development, Circuit Generation, Circuit Analysis, Software Technical Documentation
 
  1. Implementation of Product Design:  Execute Hardware  and  Software  development  to specification, conduct design reviews, revise and release engineering data for production
 
  1. Verification of Product Design: Execute Circuit Analysis, Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, and Software Proof of Correctness
Results: Documented analysis of design activities. Analysis indicates functionality per specification
 
  1. Validation of Product Design: Validation plan development, oversight of validation testing, support of validation activities through design activities.
 
  1. Product Cost Management: Accurate Bills of Material are developed and costed to determine materials cost. Component and Software selection and specification to meet unit cost targets.
 
  1. Schematic Entry: Accurate entry of schematics including component selection and interconnection. Symbol Creation and checking. All component attributes such as PCB footprint, Manufacturer Part Number, Internal Part Number, Reference, Value, Tolerance, Rating, Etc… accurately entered.
 
  1. Printed Circuit Board Layout: Layout of Printed Circuit Boards per departmental and IPC design guidelines and engineering direction. PCB component generation and checking.
 
  1. Development status reports: Status reports shall be developed and maintained as required for management and customer review
 
  1. Product Manufacturability and Testability: Co-ordinates with Electrical and Mechanical Designers, Process and Test Engineers to ensure product can be manufactured and tested effectively.
 
  1. Technical Product Build: Build/Assist on highly technical product builds. May involve PCB assembly, Wire Harness/Cable building, Mechanical Packaging, Software Installation/Configuration, and functional Testing
Required Skills
