What you will be doing:- Lead HR & talent management strategies to achieve vision, mission, & core values.
- Represent an integral role in our leadership team. Cascade feedback & communications from senior management decisions & direction to HR teams.
- Be a role model of company culture, values, & DI for activities across company. Drive anti-harassment learning, & advocate for health & well-being while working in collaboration with our Business Unit (BU) leadership.
- Enrich the employee experience by actively promoting a trusting environment where employees can engage with HR. Connect with employees regularly, advocate & provide guidance to leadership on people-related needs & concerns.
- In partnership with BU leaders, establish programs to support initiatives to drive employee engagement, satisfaction, & retention. Utilize company-wide & local surveys to understand employee engagement levels & determine countermeasures to address trends.
- Formulate, evaluate, & implement HR priorities, goals, & objectives aligned with business objectives in conjunction with leadership.
- Lead & develop HR team to ensure deep bench strength in key areas of HR expertise. Foster teamwork, open communication, & collaboration with HR team.
- Deliver timely performance feedback for HR team & execute/contribute to performance appraisals during bi-annual performance cycle.
- In partnership with operations, develop & implement integrated BU staffing strategies & employee career progression & mobility.
- Develop recruiting strategy (experienced hires, college relations/recruiting, & internships) in coordination with leaders to support hiring demands, mitigate organizational gaps, & build healthy candidate pipeline.
- Lead performance management & succession planning processes, assist in identification of talent gaps for critical contributor positions, & propose solutions. Ensure managers are prepared to deliver constructive feedback & coach employees.
- Lead BU salary & compensation planning; provide guidance to management regarding company’s merit philosophy.
- Design, develop, & implement DI programs to position employees for success & identify career opportunities to fulfill individual aspirations.
- Drive decision support & intervention strategy using root cause analysis & interpretation of various metrics (hiring, employee relations, & turnover) & data trends.
- Guide BU leaders on employment decisions (hiring, disciplinary, & termination) & complex HR legal & compliance matters to mitigate risk. Ensure compliance with company policies & federal, state, & local laws.
- Lead employee relations investigations & complaints; advise on employment decisions & collaborate with Employee Relations to ensure proper management of all cases.
- Coach all employees within individual BU, including leadership. Serve as liaison for external professional coaches & participate in coaching engagements.
- Develop relationships & engage with internal & external legal counsel & compliance.
- Work in partnership with leaders & safety team to instill safety-first culture.
- Serve as volunteer participant on company-wide HR business initiatives.
- Keep current with HR trends & be active in external professional HR organizations.
- Other activities, duties, & responsibilities as assigned.
What we're looking for:- Experience fostering a culture that supports intra-organizational diverse and inclusive relationships.
- Bachelor's Degree from accredited degree program & minimum of 10 years of progressive human resources experience, & minimum of 4 years of experience at director/manager level
- Advanced experience promoting talent management concepts & utilizing related tools (9 box, succession planning, career pathing, etc.).
- Construction or construction-related industries, including trades & contractor management.
- HRCI or SHRM certification
- Excellent interpersonal communication & professional presentation.
- Persuasion skills to confidently engage & influence at all levels of organization.
- Highly developed self-awareness & willingness to be vulnerable for continuous growth.
- Organizational savvy & discernment in complex circumstances.
- Self-starter with executive management & leadership skills.
- Capable of managing multiple complex projects & tasks successfully to completion.
- Able to build engaging partnerships with team & organizational stakeholders through trust, teamwork, & direct communication.
- Agile & change mindset; champion of innovation & lean culture and concepts, continuous improvement principles, methods, & tools.
- Experience managing, mentoring, & developing talent
- Active participation in professional &/or industry organizations.
- Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications & HR related software.
- Background education in law preferred.
