Position Description
Perform modeling, simulation, and analysis tasks assessing operational relevance, system survivability, system effectiveness, and overall system performance in engagement / mission-level scenarios.

Responsibilities
  • Develop performance models and algorithms, threat models and command and control models for new and/or existing system simulation frameworks.
 
  • Administer, operate, and maintain the suite of commercial and military modeling and simulation systems to include Battlefield Operations Support System (BOSS), Multi-Link System Test and Training Tool (MLST3), Wrap Around Simulation Program (WASP), and Extensible Command, Control, Communications, and Computers Integrated (C4I) Instrumentation Suite (ExCIS), and Next Generation Threat System (NGTS). Experience with PMTRASYS systems such as Virtual Battlespace Simulation (VBS3), Deployable Virtual Training Environment (DVTE), MAGTF Tactical Warfare Simulation (MTWS), Combined Arms Command and Control Trainer (CACCTUS), Joint Semi-Automated Forces (JSAF), Joint Staff Action Processing (JSAP), Joint Simulation BUS(JBUS), Joint Conflict and Tactical Simulation Enhancements (J-CATS), and/or Joint Training Environment Network (Air, Ground, Fires) is a plus.
 
  • Implement the ports, protocols, and policies that are associated with modeling and simulation such as Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and/or High-Level Architecture (HLA) and connections to Navy Continuous Training Environment (NCTE).
 
  • Automate war scenario execution for events of MLR, JADC2, Project Convergence, and Project Overmatch using tools such as BOSS, MLST3, WASP, ExCIS, and NGTS, etc. to minimize the requirements of live tactical feeds.
 
  • Reuse NGTS models developed by other NGTS developers to support the MLR Battle Lab capabilities and the JADC2 environment.
 
  • Develop NGTS model Plug-Ins and I/O Plug-Ins using the NGTS Software Developer's Kit (SDK) to simulate war scenarios.
 
  • Administer both Windows and LINUX based systems by ensuring that the most up-to-date version of the software is being utilized in accordance with the ATO and program office directives and downloading any appropriate patch necessary for full functionality.
 
  • Configure virtualized server computing environment as required – estimate approximately but not less than once per month.
 
  • Plan, install, modify, and troubleshoot local area networks (LANs), WANs and Virtual Networks at all levels of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model; specifically, technologies and architectures employed by the USMC in tactical environments.
 
  • Supports the development of the Test Plan, identifying the resources, schedule, and test cases required to achieve the test objectives.
 
  • Develops Test Cases and test Scripts to support systems under test and simulation tools.
 
  • Develops scenarios and supports mission thread development.
 
  • Develop the Test Report ensuring that all stated requirements and test objectives have been evaluated and the documented results adequately and accurately reflect the collected data and analysis conducted during the event.
