Job Purpose:
 The duties and responsibilities of the Billing Support Specialist, include but are not limited to: providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the office. Supports managers and team members through a variety of tasks related to organization and communication. Responsible for confidential and time sensitive material. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices and procedures. Ability to effectively communicate via phone and email ensuring that all Administrative Assistant duties are completed accurately and delivered with high quality and in a timely manner.

Essential Functions:
  • Submit office supply order on behalf of the Revenue Cycle Department.
  • Handle multiple projects.
  • Ensure operation of office equipment (ie:check scanners) by completing preventative maintenance (if applicable) and/or contacting appropriate personal for maintenance/repairs.
  • Scan checks for deposit to appropriate bank accounts.
  • Sort incoming mail and distribute to appropriate team members.
  • Ensures accurate diagnoses and procedure codes are utilized.
  • Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential.
  • Accurately enterers demographic/insurance and authorization information into the billing system.
  • Assists with correction and re-submission of insurance claims.
  • Assists team members in gaining access to websites/payment portals and any other applications needed to preform daily tasks.
  • Maintain up-to-date employee holiday records.
  • Assist leaders and upper management with special projects.
  • Accurately enters demographic and authorization information into the billing system.
  • Provides access to online portals for team members.
            
Qualifications and Education Requirements
  • Knowledge of office management systems and procedures.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
  • Attention to detail and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications as well as medical office software.
  • At least 3 years’ experience in the administrative field.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
  • Familiar with Chemotherapy and Radiation Billing

Physical demands: Required job duties are essentially sedentary in nature, consisting of occasional walking, standing, lifting and/or carrying twenty five pounds maximum, seeing, speaking and hearing. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
Work environment:  Required job duties are normally performed in a climate-controlled office environment.
