JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the design, development, and optimization of assembly manufacturing processes. A key function is to identify delays in production and sources of waste, and then use technology and engineering principles to refine the process (Lean Manufacturing Principles). Also, to assist & train assembly staff on how to properly incorporate new technology and methods into current production standards. A primary function is to define manufacturing process, determine requirements for new processes or equipment, troubleshoot and implement process improvements (Continuous Improvement Principles & 5S). This position also acts as a sustaining engineer or configuration management function of Product Design Engineering, and therefore knowledge in drafting (GD&T), CAD (AutoCAD Inventor), ERP and Engineering Change Control are utilized. This position aids in the design/support of existing products to fulfill the needs of the customer. This position often acts as an engineering document liaison for the sales, manufacturing, and assembly departments.

JOB DUTIES
Essential Job Functions:
  1. Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement knowledge/experience.
  2. Knowledge of equipment for purchase, installation, and repair.
  3. Project management and scheduling.
  4. AutoCAD Inventor or similar CAD application knowledge.
  5. Modify or revise designs through the EC system to correct deficiencies or to reduce production problems.
  6. Complete all required documentation for the revision of assembly drawings, as well as part detail drawings in accordance with ASME Y14.5 and GD&T standards in the AutoCAD Inventor CAD program.
  7. Coordinate with manufacturing on engineering changed stock depositions.
  8. Support manufacturing and assembly personnel, when needed.
  9. Manage ERP data entry for all Engineering data required.
  10. Coordinate with Production personnel in creating manufacturing/assembly/inspection support, documentation.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position primarily involves sitting and walking in carrying out the job duties; occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. may be necessary from time to time.
REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who delivers effective results, meets deadlines, and completes projects which align with company objectives. The successful candidate would possess the following qualifications:
 
  • EDUCATION REQUIRED – Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.  Must have mechanical qualifications at a technician level
 
  • EXPERIENCE – 3-5 years of machine manufacturing or related environment experience.  Previous experience within the automated material handling industry is preferred.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, OR ABILITIES – AutoCAD Inventor experience required.  Must possess a high degree of organizational and documentation skills. 
  • CONTACT WITH OTHERS – daily, moderate, contact with co-workers.  Occasional contact with outside clients and officials.  Daily interaction with the Engineering Manager.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is carried out indoors in an office environment or on the manufacturing floor, when performing tasks related to production, such as process documentation.​​​​​
