Description
At MMT, our objective is to develop excellence in automation, machine design, material handling, and custom tooling.  Each position contributes to the success of the company through accountability, responsiveness, and a solutions-oriented mindset.  The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for assisting in preparing and recording journal entries and account reconciliations, internal management reporting, performing financial analysis, and participating in third party audits.
JOB DUTIES
Essential Job Functions:
  • Performs daily accounting reconciliation and resolves discrepancies, ensuring all internal and external transactions are accurately recorded in the accounting system.
  • Reconciles bank statements, credit cards statements and intercompany accounts each month
  • Works in cooperation with Controller to perform month end accounting close in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Regularly maintains detailed reconciliation of balance sheet accounts for several sites
  • Assists in the year end audit process and other accounting projects as deemed necessary.
  • Performs all other duties as needed to assist the company in attaining its objectives

QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with coursework in Accounting/Finance PREFERRED.
  • 5+ years of experience in General Ledger accounting (May consider 4 years of uninterrupted experience in combination with some college or university coursework in Accounting/Finance)
  • Knowledge of Financial Reporting and Audit preparation
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office
  • Advanced excel skills including pivot tables and vlookups.
  • Strong financial skills with a basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A professional appearance and customer service oriented
  • Self-motivated with good organizational skills.
